MaccabiUSA@Home is happy to present the Maccabi USA Sports Show hosted by Donna Orender and Arnie Fielkow. Orender and Fielkow will interview a series of Jewish guests that encompass individuals in the sports industry at the very top of their field. Guests will speak about their journey to the top and how being Jewish played a part in that experience and what they learned along the way about their Jewish identity. This program will feature our special guest host Don Kent, First Vice President of Maccabi USA and Soccer alum.

Our first guests will be MLS Commissioner, and Maccabi USA Soccer alum , Senior Vice President of Competition, Operations and Medical Administration at the MLS. Don Garber was named Commissioner of in 1999. Prior to joining MLS, Garber spent 16 years in a variety of sales, marketing, programming and event management positions at the National Football League. While working at the NFL, Garber launched NFL International and was responsible for all aspects of the NFL’s business outside the .

During his tenure as Commissioner, MLS has expanded from 10 to 30 clubs throughout the United States and Canada, added 24 new owners and secured long-term broadcast agreements with ESPN, FOX and Univision and major international broadcast networks. Garber brings his expertise to a variety of professional and philanthropic boards he serves on including the United Sates Soccer Federation and Hope and Heroes, an organization raising funds and creative programs for pediatric cancer patients at Presbyterian Hospital.

One of the top five most capped players ever for the United States Men’s National Soccer team, Jeff Agoos led the U.S. National Team to glory for over fifteen years. He’s represented the US at two FIFA World Cups and the 2000 Summer Olympic Games. Agoos has played at every level of the game including earning a silver medal in the 1992 FIFA World Championships. He also won the 2002 Concacaf Gold Cup and was named to that tournament’s Best XI. Over his 10-year MLS career as a rock- sold defenseman, Agoos was named an MLS All-Star nine times while playing 244 games with three clubs: D.C. United, the and the MetroStars (now ).

He's a five-time MLS Cup champion and National Hall of Famer, but Agoos’ contributions off the pitch are just as important as the ones he made on the pitch. He currently serves as Major League Soccer’s Senior Vice President of Competition, Operations and Medical Administration, in which he is responsible for improving the quality of the on-field product, ensuring a best in class sports experience and providing exceptional, individualized medical care. In addition, Agoos provides input on technical development, disciplinary matters and serves as the league liaison with MLS coaches and Chief Soccer Officers on all game-related matters. Jeff has been with the MLS since 2011. Donald P. Kent is a Financial Advisor in Bernstein’s New York office. Kent has dedicated much of his time to advancing national Jewish pride serving as the vice president at the Jewish Federations of North America (formerly CJF) devoting 13 years to building Federations’ planned giving and endowment programs. Don serves on the Professional Advisory Committee of the Museum of Modern Art. He is also the First Vice President of Maccabi USA, a proud Maccabi USA soccer alum and former President of the Village Temple in NYC.

Arnie Fielkow is the CEO and President of the Jewish Federation of New Orleans. Previously he has served as President and CEO of the NBA Retired Players Association, President of New Orleans City Council, Executive Vice President of the New Orleans Saints. Arnie is an Alum of Maccabi USA, the parent of a Maccabi athlete, and a Vice President of Maccabi USA.

Donna Orender is founder and CEO of Orender Unlimited and CEO of Generation W, a non-profit advocating and empowering women and young girls. She has served as President of the WNBA, Senior VP of the PGA, and played professional basketball in the WBL. Donna is a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and voted by Fox Sports one of the top ten most powerful women in sport. She is a Maccabi Alumna and parent of Maccabi athletes, and is the Secretary of Maccabi USA.
