ALUMNI FEEDBACK ON INSTITUTION Alumni meeting were held on 24-04-2018 at 4.00pm under the chairmanship of Dr. Prasanna Kumar MohantyPrincipal, B.J.B

Autonomous College. Twenty five alumni were present in that meet.

Their feedback was analysed qualitatively which are presented below.

The alumni of the College feel proud to be identified as old student of the

College and are ever eager to visit their alma mater not only to reminisce a shared past but to share their ideas regarding the development of the institution. Many of them have viewed that the educational environment of the College has been vitiated by student union election and petty politics.

Some have suggested for alumni meeting at least twice a year to consolidate their plans and take stock of their contribution. There should be imparting of education a new discipline and introduction of PG courses. It is high time according to majority of them that the College was declared a University.

The Public perception about the institution is quite high. But many have regretted the fact that there is no provision for a professor post in any department and the image of the institution have been perpetuated as an undergraduate college.

SCRIBE CLUB

Objectives: To spread awareness about inclusive education and help in particular the students who are visually challenged.

xlii

Context : Organisation of a Scribe Club in the College.

Practice : Many students of the College belong to Person with Disability (PWD) category and some of them are visually challenged. Total number of Person with Disability (PWD) students in the College is 35. Students have been encouraged to work as scribe for the visually challenged (blind and partially blind). Students from NSS, YRC and “Rovers & Rangers” have volunteered to work as scribe for them mainly during examinations and classrooms.

Evidence of success: The visually challenged students have selected their scribe from the scribe club during their examinations and have come out successful.

Problems Encountered and Resources Required :On occasions the scribe volunteers have to take their examinations on the same day the PWD (visually challenged) candidates are required to take their own. Members of the scribe club should be trained by experts to understand the specific problems of the visually challenged. SCRIBE CLUB MEMBERS
