On March 11 th , youngsters from The Henry Cort Community College got some tips on interview technique and presentation from BBC South Today's Sally Taylor. During a visit to the South Today studios, the pupils turned the microphones on Sally, asking her about her career in journalism and getting plenty of advice about how to deliver their news bulletins. The project was a huge success and Mr Munday received a letter of thanks from Ros Smith, Deputy Editor of BBC School Report and a certificate. The School Report is an annual project involving thousands of students in hundreds of UK schools. This unique scheme provides 11 to 14-year-olds with an opportunity to learn to be journalists with the help of the BBC and partners. As part of the initiative pupils choose their own stories and broadcast them to a live audience on News Day. The winning team were led by Zoe Viner at The Henry Cort Community College. Zoe Viner remarked "The students' ability to research, plan and deliver news stories in the BBC studios was impressive; they were naturals on the camera and we had great fun on the day." Henry Cort also received a certificate, signed by media legend, Huw Edwards, as recognition of their huge success on the day.
