Bikram Choudhury Scandal Hits TV Screens For ‘Vanity Fair Confidential’ by YD

When a behemoth reaches peak scandal status. The Bikram Choudhury Saga (short for the multiple rape and sexual harassment lawsuits and the subsequent downfall of The Don of yoga), is getting the true crime treatment courtesy of ID (aka Investigation Discovery)’s Vanity Fair Confidential.

The episode, “Bikram Feels the Heat,” premiering this coming Monday, March 13, follows the story of the Empire—how it came to be and how the cult-like brand led by a power-seeking narcissist began to crack after several accusations of sexual harassment and rape began to surface. Most notable was former Bikram trainee Sarah Baughn’s 2013 lawsuit that opened the door for others to come forward—and they did. (In case you missed it, Bikram Choudhury lost basically everything in a major win for his former legal advisor Miki Jafa-Bodden who had accused him of sexual harassment and wrongful termination. Choudhury still faces multiple lawsuits.)

Vanity Fair Confidential is a 12-part series focusing on the scandals and “real-life dramas of the rich and powerful”—and that’s what we’ve come to with Bikram Choudhury these days. The episode by Vanity Fair’s Benjamin Wallace (who wrote this breaking news piece) includes interviews with Sarah Baughn, Miki Jafa-Bodden, and fellow accuser Larissa Anderson, and poses the questions: How did this man allegedly go from healer to sexual predator? What will it take to stop the violence?

SO. DRAMATIC. But, remember, it’s real life. And these are actual real people affected by this. And it’s probably bigger than we even know. Stay tuned for the feature film.
