Set in Newcastle’s historic Grainger Town, the Tyneside Cinema is your first stop for a stylish and original event. The Tyneside has held a place in the heart of the region for over seventy years. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, the Grade II-listed building is an important nationally recognised piece of heritage lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

Every space in the Tyneside is available for hire and are full of possibilities. Just 30 seconds away from Grey’s Monument in Newcastle’s City Centre and main public transport routes, the Tyneside is a contemporary and exciting venue that can deliver exactly what you need.

The Classic is our largest space, and the heart of the Tyneside Cinema. Originally the News Theatre screen, The Classic is a magnificently restored auditorium which features balcony seating in its Classic Circle and a stage ideal for awards ceremonies and photo opportunities.

The Electra’s stadium seating layout and massive cinema screen is perfect for conferences and presentations. It also comes with moveable sofa seating in the front row for extra space. If you want to get your message across ‘big’ then The Electra is ideal!
