However, the majority of them have low energy density. One of the favorable technologies for enhancing that property is briquetting. For the case of Phitsanulok, a province in Northern Thailand, cassava is one of the most important crops. Therefore, a large amount of cassava stalk is left in the field after harvest. This study was aimed to investigate the quantity of cassava stalk in this province and to study cassava stalk briquette production. Approach: The potential energy from cassava stalk was calculated based on the productivity, residue-to-product ratio, residue returned to soil ratio and its heating value. Besides, the effects of moderate-range compression pressure, 70-110 bar, and the binder ratio, 10-20%, on briquette density were investigated. An empirical model was also developed and validated. Results: Base on the estimation, the quantity of usable cassava stalk in this area was approximately 18 kton year−1. The heating value of cassava stalk was found to be 16.39 MJ kg−1. Therefore, the total energy over 289 TJ year−1 can be obtained from this agricultural waste. According to the experiment, briquette density was in the range of 0.40-0.77 g cm−3. The coefficient of multiple determination for prediction of the proposed model was about 94.7%. -

Thailand Screening for the promising fungal strains of M. anisopliae from the C. medinalis cadavers collected W Pongprasert from the rice paddy field in lower northern Thailand for controlling C. medinalis was carried out. A total Department of Agricultural of 27 C. medinalis cadavers infected by M. anisopliae were obtained from 11 survey locations in 5 Science, Faculty of Agriculture provinces of lower northern Thailand. The pathogenicity screening found that three isolates of M. natural resources and anisopliae (MPC03, MST01 and MPL02) were highly efficient in controlling C. medinalis at 100% Environment, Naresuan mortality 6 days after application with LT50 at 3.01-3.23 days. The efficacy test revealed that those three University, Phitsanulok, isolates caused 100% mortality on C. medinalis 7 days after application. The lower northern part of Thailand contains various genetically diverse ethnic populations. The sequences of the mitochondrial DNA hypervariable region were studied in three ethnic populations inhabiting Phitsanulok Province. One hundred and nine nucleotide sequences - 53, 29, and 27 from Hmongs (Hill tribe), Lao Songs, and Thai-Siams, respectively - were collected. The haplotypes were generated from 1130 nucleotides of the entire control region. Eighty-six haplotypes were found in the three ethnic populations, and no shared haplotypes were found between populations. Point heteroplasmy was noted at position 311 (C→Y). Haplotypes with ACAC-insertion at position 512 were observed in immigrant individuals from the Lao Song population. The Thai-Siam population showed higher genetic diversity than the other populations. The Hmong and Lao Song populations Genetics and Molecular Research 16 (3): gmr16039687 U. Suyasunanont et al. 2 showed less genetic diversity than those living in their original area. -

Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 4, B.E. 2560 (2017) Regarding Control of Transport of Paddy, Rice ------------------------------------ Whereas the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has repealed the Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 1, B.E. 2559 (2016) regarding Determination of Goods and Services under Control dated 21 January B.E. 2559 ( 2016) , resulting in the end of enforcement of the Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 4, B.E. 2559 (2016) regarding Control of Transport of Paddy, Rice dated 25 January B.E. 2559 (2016). In the meantime, the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has already reconsidered the exercise of its power regarding the stipulation of the aforesaid measure, it is of the view that the measure of the control of transport of paddy, rice should be maintained in order to bring about the fairness of price, quantity and the maintenance of stability of the rice market system within the Kingdom. By virtue of Section 9 (2) and Section 25 (4), (7) of the Price of Goods and Services Act, B.E. 2542 ( 1999) , the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has therefore issued this Notification, as follows. Article 1. This Notification shall come into force in all areas of the Kingdom for the period of one year as from the day following the date of its publication.1 Article 2. Globba subsect. Nudae K.Larsen is revised. Seven species are recognised and three names are lectotypifi ed. A key to the species and descriptions are provided. Three new species are described and illustrated: G. aranyaniae Sangvir. & M.F.Newman sp. nov., G. lithophila Sangvir. & M.F.Newman sp. nov., and G. macrochila Sangvir. & M.F.Newman sp. nov. Four names based on types from Bangladesh, India and Myanmar remain doubtful. The morphological expression of andromonoecy in this group is described in detail. Assessment of Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Corridors
About the Assessment of Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Corridors The transformation of transport corridors into economic corridors has been at the center of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program since 1998. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) conducted this Assessment to guide future investments and provide benchmarks for improving the GMS economic corridors. This Assessment reviews the state of the GMS economic corridors, focusing on transport infrastructure, particularly road transport, cross-border transport and trade, and economic potential. This assessment consists of six country reports and an integrative report initially presented in June 2018 at the GMS Subregional Transport Forum. About the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program The GMS consists of Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, the People’s Republic of China (specifically Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), Thailand, and Viet Nam. CURRENT SITUATION 1.1 Current flooded provinces: there are 30 recent flooded provinces: Sukhothai, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Sara Buri, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Pathumthani, Nonthaburi, Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothorn, Loei, Khon Kaen, Sisakes, Chacheongsao, Chantha Buri, Trad, Nakhon Nayok, Trang, Satun, Tak, Sakaew, Prachinburi, and Surat Thani. The total of 166 Districts, 1,021 Sub-Districts, 5,626 Villages, 339,601 families and/or 1,204,358 people are affected by the flood. The total fatalities are 91 deaths and 2 missing. (Fatalities: 1 in Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Phetchabun, Singburi, Chainat, and Trad; 2 in Tak, Nakhon Phanom, Roi Et, Phang-Nga and Suphan Buri; 3 in Chiang Mai and Chonburi; 4 in Prachin Buri ; 5 in Phitsanulok, and Nakhon Sawan; 7 in Uttaradit and Mae Hong Son; 8 in Phrae; 9 in Sukhothai; and 24 in Phichit: Missing: 1 in Mae Hong Son, and 1 in Uttaradit due to landslide) 1.2 Weather Condition: The monsoon trough lies across the lower North, the Central and the Northeast of Thailand. The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Decreasing rain and isolated heavy falls are likely over the country, especially in provinces of Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Lop Buri, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Phang-nga and Phuket. -

Maha Sura Singhanat Somdet Phra Bawornrajchao Maha Sura Singhanat (Thai: สมเด็จพระบวรราช Maha Sura Singhanat เจามหาสุรสิงหนาท; RTGS: Somdet Phra Boworaratchao Mahasurasinghanat) (1744–1803) was the younger brother of Phutthayotfa Chulalok, the first monarch of มหาสุรสิงหนาท the Chakri dynasty of Siam. As an Ayutthayan general, he fought alongside his brother in various campaigns against Burmese invaders and the local warlords. When his brother crowned himself as the king of Siam at Bangkok in 1781, he was appointed the Front Palace or Maha Uparaj, the title of the heir. During the reign of his brother, he was known for his important role in the campaigns against Bodawpaya of Burma.
