Through Genesee Valley Conservancy, the community has protected 20,600 acres of unique habitats, productive farmland, and scenic open space in the Genesee Valley since 1990.
#GeneseeValley100 I am thrilled to present our second iteration of the Genesee Valley 100.
Last year, we presented 100 original paintings inspired by the Genesee Valley. This year, we present 100 photographs taken in the Genesee Valley.
This collection of photographs, from 100 photographers, told only that their image must be taken in the Genesee Valley, represents the diverse landscape found here.
With this project, we hope to propel appreciation and conservation of the Genesee Valley forward. Clean air, water, and a vibrant agricultural economy all depend on protecting the land.

The Project: We asked photographers to capture an image in the Genesee Valley in order to compose a mosaic of our local landscape.
Sales: Many of the photographs are available for purchase. Prices were set by the photographers and benefit the photographers and Conservancy. All works will remain on view until the end of the show. Steed Energy Purchasing: On our website (above) or if you prefer to use cash or check, please contact the Genesee Valley Conservancy and we will put a 36hr hold on your desired purchase for you to drop off or mail cash/check to our office.
Pickup: Buyers may pick up their purchase(s) at the Conservancy (One Main Silver Serpent Triathlon Street, Geneseo) between 8am and 4pm starting Jan. 2. You may also contact the office for other arrangements.
Shipping: Photographs can be securely packed and shipped to you for $20 per photo. Photographs will ship the week of Jan. 6.

Preserving Natural Resources The conservation easement on the Wheeler Gully Research Reserve allowed private landowners to protect this 400 acre forest surrounding Jaycox Creek from development and continue natural water quality benefits, habitat, and forestry opportunities. The property is also used for formal research. Improving Land Management The Genesee Valley Landowner Workshops provide landowners an opportunity learn about improving their land management practices: native species, invasive species threats, improving timber stands, and other best practices for our landscape. Restoring Damaged Landscapes Re-establishing wetlands along an Oatka Creek project site will capture storm water and naturally filter out chemicals and sediment before it enters the creek, a public drinking water source and trout stream.
