THE TABERNACLE

As we enter a new year consider the following passage of Scripture as the prayer for our church family:

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all gen- erations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:14-21

I pray in 2021 we would see our church grow in theses things. I love being your pastor, Scott

Happy New Year! As most of you, I am praying daily for God to bless us with peace and a return to joining together as family to worship our one true God and Saviour.

Children’s choir begins January 13. The time change is 5:30-6:15. This allows us to Jane Train also provide the wonderful children’s teachings: Generation of Grace. We offer teach- ing for two age groups, K-2nd grade and 3rd.-6th grade. Chris Keesecker is teaching the older group and I teach the younger. My hope is that you will bring kids at 5:30 for a full night of enrichment. Childcare is provided Wednesday evenings by the Wellspeak family which is such a blessing and a joy.

As most of you know George and I are going to be grandparents this May. We are excited, shocked, concerned, and very sad that our girl lives so far away in Colorado. But! We trust our gracious God who has a wonderful plan for all of this new chapter for us. We covet your prayers and lean into the sweet fellowship of our church family for encour- agement and of course advice!

Love to all of you, especially Mrs. Ellie, Mrs. Peggy, Mrs. Helen, Mrs. Denise, and Mrs. Frances. We miss you and know you would be here with us if you could. I love Tabernacle, Jane THE TABERNACLE

As we enter into a New Year, Tabernacle has one less bus. We sold the Ford bus to New Life FWB church for $21,000. We financed the sale for three months, $7,000 per month. They made the first payment in December, the balance is to be made in January and February. We are now trying to find a buyer for the Thomas bus, if anyone knows of a possible buyer, please let one of the Directors know. Getting the buses off our insurance, will result in about $5,000 saving per year. The Directors work hard in trying to keep our insurance rate as low as possible, while maintaining adequate coverage.

We hope everyone has a great New Year filled with love, joy and good health.

Monthly News “...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18 January, 2021 Happy New Year!

I think we can all agree that 2020 was a difficult year! There is no promise that 2021 will be better but we are promised that God is always with us. So no matter what is in store for 2021, we are encouraged knowing God will be with us, right here in the midst of it all! I pray that the New Year will bring joy and happiness your way. But whatever happens, God is good. All the time.

Resolutions for Parents Over the years I’ve submitted several New Year’s Resolutions for parents. Some I’ve copied from other sources, some I’ve created from my own experience. If I had to narrow it down, my suggestions for the top two things a parent can do if they want to do better at this whole thing we call parenting, they would be: Spend time with your child. Play with her, go places with him, do the things she likes to do. Put down your phone and talk with him. If you want to be in the position to have the most influence in your child’s life you need to have a strong positive relationship. The best way to get that is spending time together. Watch your mouth. I’m not just talking about bad words. What does your child hear you say? Are you gossiping? Bad-mouthing someone? Lying? Criticizing? Passing on a confidence? Are you talking negatively, especially about or to your child? The words you speak have lasting impacts. Choose your words carefully. ______

Looking ahead – believe it or not, Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will begin NEXT MONTH! Information will be going home to our preschool families the end of this month. If you have a child that will be between the ages of 1 and 5 by August 31, give me a call in the preschool office. I will be glad to tell you more about our program! ______

The Tooth Fairy was Here When my grandson was 7 he lost a tooth and placed it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. When he was telling me about it, he kept referring to the tooth fairy as “she” so I asked, “How do you know the tooth fairy is a girl?” He replied slowly, as if I was unable to comprehend, “Uhh… FAIRYYY!!?” When he told me the tooth fairy left him $5, I had to respond as any older person would, “WHAT?! FIVE DOLLARS?! You’re kidding! When I was little I was lucky if the tooth fairy left me a quarter!” (Mom and dad, I think I was jipped!) So I asked him, “If I fell and knocked out one of my teeth and put it under my pillow, do you think the tooth fairy would bring me $5?” After a brief moment of thought he said, “Well, Mimi, I think we should try it and see what happens!”
