Another of Ulysses’ visions allowed the heroes to apprehend the Mad Titan Thanos, but not without cost—Colonel James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, lost his life. Wary of Ulysses’ power, Tony Stark, the Invincible Iron Man, invaded New Attilan and kidnapped the young Inhuman. Queen Medusa mobilized her people to rescue their brother, but chose to spare Stark from further retaliation. A fringe group of Inhumans, fi nding her decision weak, destroyed Stark Tower. Medusa sought out the culprits—but shortly, another attack on Stark occurred. In most accounts there are thirty emanations in fifteen complementary pairs, each getting slightly less of the divine material and therefore being slightly weaker. The emanations are called Aeons (eternities) and are mostly named personifications in Greek of abstract ideas.
