Artist Background

Lindokuhle “Lindo” Hadebe was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal in the 80’s; he discovered his talent at a very young age, while singing in church and around the township with his friends and church members.

As time went by, Lindo developed a serious passion and a drive to pursue his love for the , which he later on chose as a career while he was still in High School. He later joined one of the well-known local gospel groups called Sacred Fellows which was managed by his Afrikaans teacher. The group got more popular around Kwa Zulu Natal and I was chosen to be a leading vocalist due to my vocal ability and a group’s writer.

The group decided to record its first African contemporary gospel entitled “Izembe” in Johannesburg and the album was released throughout the country and Later one recorded a second gospel album with the same group entitled “Thuma Mina” which was released under under Soul Candi Records and Thandase Productions, this is where he learned to perform professionally and travelled across the length and breadth of south Africa.

In 2006 the group parted ways, but Lindo never looked back, he went to for Malaika and was chosen to be a backing vocalist, and tour the country and the world with the group. He also worked with Tshedi Mholo of Malaika on her solo album as a backing vocalist. In 2013 Lindo started working on his solo album after he receiving a lot of recognition as a backing vocalist and his ability to write song, arrange music and produce music.

Later on in 2013 Lindo met with Ntokozo Malinga, who happened to be his current produce on his soon to be released album, entitled “Ubuntu”. Lindo met with long time mentor and friend Ndabi Thomas with who they will release the album under his company called Thandase Music and carry forward the vision they had since the early 2000’s.
