Minor League Report May 7, 2018 | Organizational Record: 63-54 (.538) Minor League Report May 7, 2018 | Organizational Record: 63-54 (.538) REC.: 13-16 SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE PLACE: 6th RAILRIDERS GB: -3.0 TRIPLE-A INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE • The RailRiders went 3-4 last week…took 2-of-3 vs. Buffalo before dropping 3-of-4 to Pawtucket…start a 3G series at Syracuse tonight-Wed. • In Wed.’s 3-2 win vs. Buffalo,RHP Brody Koerner had his longest start of the season, going 6.2IP (2H, 0R, 1BB, 3K)…is just the third RailRiders starter to have a scoreless start of at least 6.0IP with 2H-or-fewer this season (also: David Hale on 4/8 and Josh Rogers on 4/23). • On Tues. vs. Buffalo, LHP Daniel Camarena (7.0IP, 5H, 0R, 1BB, 6K) earned his first win of the season…was his longest career Triple-A start (prev.: 6.1IP)…snapped a seven-start winless streak (since 8/24/17 with Double-A Trenton)…his 6K were the most since 4/28/17 vs. Indianapolis (7K). • OF Clint Frazier has reached base safely in five straight games and is hitting .333/.429/.722 (6-for-18) with 2R, 2 triples, 1HR, 2RBI and 2BB over the stretch. • RHP Raynel Espinal has not allowed a run in five straight appearances (6.0IP, 9K). REC.: 18-10 TRENTON THUNDER PLACE: 2nd GB: -0.0 DOUBLE-A EASTERN LEAGUE • Trenton went 6-1 last week…took 2-of-3 at Portland and swept a 4G series with Harrisburg…host Reading for three games tonight-Wed… improved to a league-best 11-0 when scoring first and earned their league-leading fourth shutout of the season with a 4-0 win on Sunday. • Trenton starters have allowed 2ER combined in their last 4GS (23.0IP, 0.78 ERA)…as a team, Thunder pitchers have the sixth-lowest ERA in the minors (2.67). • 1B Chris Gittens has hit safely in seven straight games, batting .348/.484/.609 (8-for-23) with 6R, 3 doubles, 1HR, 7RBI and 7BB…has raised his season BA 35 points from .212 to .247 during the streak (was hitting .212 in his first 19G)…has also reached base safely in 10 straight games…is tied for third in the EL with 16BB this season. • RHP Erik Swanson (5-0 with a 0.65 ERA in 5G/4GS this season) has won every time out, including Fri. vs. Harrisburg (7.0IP, 4H, 0R, 2BB, 5K)… is one of four pitchers in the EL with multiple starts of at least 7.0IP and 1R-or-fewer…has not allowed more than 4H or 1R in a single start this season…opponents are hitting .161 (15-for-93) off him this season…leads the EL in ERA, is tied for the league lead in wins, is third in WHIP (0.87), tied for third in strikeouts (35) and fourth in opponents’ BA…has not allowed a home run in 27.2IP this season and has only allowed 3XBH. REC.: 17-13 TAMPA TARPONS PLACE: 2nd GB: -2.5 SINGLE-A FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE • Tampa went 3-3 last week…took 2-of-3 vs. Fort Myers before dropping a 3G series at Florida…start a 3G series tonight at Daytona. • RHP Trevor Stephan threw a career-high 7.0IP (3H, 1ER, 1HR, 1BB, 6K) and earned the win on Tues. vs. Fort Myers…was his third quality start of the season…carries the third-lowest ERA in the FSL (1.57 ERA, 28.2IP, 5ER)…his 34K rank third in the league. • OF Alex Palma has hit .381 (16-for-42) with 5R, 3 doubles, 1HR and 7RBI over his last 11 games. Prospect Profile | RHP Michael King Last Week in 1GS with Single-A Tampa: W, 6.2IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 11K • RHP Michael King started on Thurs. vs. Fort Myers and earned the win with 6.2IP (3H, 0R, 2BB, 11K). • Recorded six of the first seven outs via strikeout…recorded four 1-2-3 innings. • Set a career high in strikeouts (previous: 9K on 4/10/17 with Miami’s Single-A Greensboro Grasshoppers)…are the most strikeouts by a Florida State League pitcher this season and is tied for the most by a Tampa pitcher since RHP Domingo Acevedo on 7/2/16 vs. Dunedin (12K). • His 2.03 ERA (26.2IP, 6ER) this season ranks seventh in the FSL, and his 10.80 K/9.0IP ratio is tops among all FSL starters. • Was his second start of at leat 6.0IP and 1R-or-fewer this season (also: 4/8 vs. Lakeland, 6.1IP, 6H, 1ER, 1BB, 7K). • The 23-year-old was acquired by the Yankees on 11/20/17 in a trade with Miami for INF Garrett Cooper and LHP Caleb Smith. “Michael King is a pitcher that our professional scouting and analytics department did a great job in identifying and acquiring via trade. After a rough start on April 27, Michael showed what he is capable of his next time out. He has plus movement on his fastball, complemented by a slider and changeup with an advanced approach for a pitcher his age. STATEN ISLAND PULASKI GCL YANKEES YANKEES YANKEES EAST & WEST • The 2017 Staten Island Yankees finished 46-29 in 2018 and qualified for the postseason for the third straight season…are slated to start the 2018 season on 6/15 vs. Brooklyn. • The Pulaski Yankees finished second in the Appalachian League East Division with a record of 41-26, qualifying for the playoffs for the second time in three seasons as an affiliate of the Yankees…will begin the 2018 campaign on 6/19 at Danville. • The GCL Yankees East finished off the 2017 season by winning the Gulf Coast League Championship…marked the 12th time a Yankees affiliate has been crowned champion of the Gulf Coast League and the first since 2011…are set to begin the 2018 season on 6/18. • The GCL Yankees West finished in third place in the GCL Northwest Division with a 32-27 record in 2017…start the 2018 season on 6/18. .

    2021 swb railriders 2021 swb railriders triple-a information On February 12, 2021, Major League Baseball announced its new plan for affiliated baseball, with 120 Minor League clubs officially agreeing to join the new Professional Development League (PDL). In total, the new player development system includes 179 teams across 17 leagues in 43 states and four provinces. Including the AZL and GCL, there are 209 teams across 19 leagues in 44 states and four provinces. That includes the 150 teams in the PDL and AZL/GCL along with the four partner leagues: the American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League and Pioneer League. The long-time Triple-A structure of the International and Pacific Coast Leagues have been replaced by Triple-A East and Triple-A West. Triple-A East consists on 20 teams; all 14 from the International League, plus teams moving from the Pacific Coast League, the Southern League and the independent Atlantic League. Triple-A West is comprised of nine Pacific Coast League teams and one addition from the Atlantic League.
