CARYS SAYS THANK YOU TO HER HERO!

Carys on the Arabia Subcamp, from 1st Kempton Guides and Wootton lost her prized pink purse earlier in the week and was quite upset that her treasured possession was gone. However, an anonymous hero found her purse, with a picture of a pug upon it, and did the thing by handing it in to the Info Centre.

Carys would like to say a massive THANK YOU to this very kind person!

If anyone else does find a piece of lost property please bring it to the Info Centre, and if you have lost something please drop by and see if it is there!

The rain came but it did not dampen the spirits at KIJ’s opening ceremony on Saturday night!

Following a busy day of arrivals of Scouts and Guides from across the globe, the time came to welcome everybody to Kent. Everybody took to the i. On Tuesday we had our roving reporter Chloe out and about meeting SCOUTING TURNS 110! the people of the Jamboree! Tuesday the 1st of August, to celebrate 110 years of scouting, we held a sunrise ceremony in which many of you joined us in the main arena to celebrate. Lizzy, Amy Lulu and Sophie Together the Scouting and Guide communities came to renew their promise along with thirty one millions from Asia-Pacific other Scouts and Guides across over 200 countries worldwide. Interamerica French scouts Candice, Pierre, Zelie and JSan-Baptiste So far they have all been finding the camp very exciting as it is the first KIJ they have attended and for some of them it is the first time in the UK they said it has been unforgettable. Africa subcamp hosted their very own bake-off challenge yesterday. participants were challenged to decorate a cake in the bake-off tent. fantastic cakes made by all, including a house cake, a pyramid, and a giraffe cheerio cake. The winner of Africa’s bake-off challenge was Sue from 25th Colchester, who decorated the most amazing Africa safari cake. Well done Sue!
