Page | 1 © All Rights Reserved 2013 Cubs Membership Award Show a General Knowledge Of The Family Of Scouts, Worldwide Scouting & The History Of Scouting Cubs Fundamentals & History of Scouting Game© Overview The children will play a game called ´Win, Lose or Draw´. The questions in this game represent everything they´ve learnt so far – so this is their recap. Additionally it also covers much knowledge about Lord Baden Powell and the history of Scouting and questions about the family of scouts. The children may not know the answers to the latter subjects however they are multiple choice and are meant to give them knowledge while guessing the answer. Materials Needed 1. Flip chart or board to record scores Preparation before the meeting 1. Print & cut the Win, Lose, Draw Cards found on the following pages 2. Mix them up 3. Ideally it would be good to have a flip chart so that you can write down the scores as it will add to the excitement if the children can see the scores or you can just stick a big sheet of paper on the wall. This game is best when played in teams of 6-8 if you have a very large group you may want to run the game twice at each ends of your room with two leaders, if this is the case you will need another set of cards or you can have more than one team so 3 teams of 8. Basically smaller teams means the children will get more interaction 2. Split your group into two teams and get them to give you a name 3. The leader reads out a question to the first person in the first team 4. If that person answers it correctly that team will gain 2 points 5. If he/she cannot answer it then it can be opened to their entire team – In which case they will earn 1 point 6. If they still can´t answer then the other team get a chance to answer for ½ a point (this really only works if you are playing the game with two teams. If you have more than two then just put the card to the bottom and use again soon) 7. Now the leader asks the first child in the second team a question 8. When you get back to the first group ask the second child and so on… 9. The team with the most points at the end wins (if you have time you can play again using the same cards because this will help them retain the information further – also you need to make sure all teams have had the same amount of questions) Page | 2 © All Rights Reserved 2013 What Is The Cub Scout Motto?
