CONFERENCE history

A charter member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Conference WOMEN’S BASKETBALL when it formed in 1924, West Liberty was also part of the WVIAC’s women’s CHAMPIONS basketball program since its inception in 1981-82. The Hilltoppers won WVIAC three WVIAC women’s basketball titles and 1982: Charleston claimed five WVIAC women’s tournament 1983: Charleston championships. 1984: Charleston 1985: Bluefield State When the league dissolved following the 1986: Charleston 2012-13 season, West Liberty joined 11 1987: Bluefield State other schools in forming the Mountain East Conference, which began 1988: Salem-Teikyo operation as the NCAA's newest Division II all-sports league in the summer 1989: Glenville State of 2013.
