Green & Sons, Printers, 1924. Octavo, tipped-in plates, first and last leaf foxed (from wrappers?), original title wrappers with one faint ink spot. Extremely scarce. Compiled by Hudson & Wardrop, architects, the brochure is illustrated with tipped-in drawings, and was issued by the National Memorial Executive Committee.

Printed by the Atlas Press, the catalogue is illustrated with 40 images of monuments and headstones, plus a view of the supplier's premises on the corner of Lonsdale and Exhibition Streets.

10 Centenary Train. $200 The 1951 Centenary and Jubilee Train. Melbourne, J. J. Gourley, Govt. Print., (1951). Single sheet folded to eight pages of quarto dimension, illustrated and with plan, text in double column, printed throughout in blue, name in ink on front corner, three old stab-marks from filing. Celebrating the centenary of the separation of Victoria, and the golden jubilee of Federation, the Victorian Government organised this tour of Victoria on a train carrying exhibitions of art and famous manuscripts, as well as displays from most government departments including the armed services.

18 Kenyon, Alfred. $450 Heidelberg: The City of Streams… 1834 – 1934 Centenary. Melbourne, City of Heidelberg, [1934]. Oblong octavo, illustrated, maps, advertisements, original yapp wrappers decorated and with onlaid image, a mint copy. A perfect copy of this rare title.

19 Lang. John Dunmore $650 Prospectus of a Company, to be designated The Australian Cotton- Growing and Emigration Company [drop title]. Glasgow, City Printing Company's Office, (1847). Folio, 4 pages (last blank), folded, dimensions 38.5 h x 24.5 w cm., a fine copy. A rare and ephemeral piece. Before a return visit to England in 1846 Lang made an extensive tour in Moreton Bay to gain information about Australia as a field for British protestant migration. The prospectus discusses the suitability of soil and climate for the purpose of cotton-growing, and reports on the quality of a sample grown near Mount Flinders on the Brisbane River by Mr W. Wilson. The sample was sent to Britain and analysed in Manchester by T. Bazley, who encouraged Lang to promote emigration for cotton cultivation. "In the particular locality in which the specimen ... was grown, there are about 50,000 acres of the finest land all adapted for this species of cultivation". Ferguson, 4565.

This was Australia's fourth Mechanics' Institute, established in 1839 and later renamed The . The report includes information on the number of volumes and magazines in circulation.

Small octavo, illustrated and with decorated upper margins, two large folding coloured maps (one with a repaired tear), paginated to 158 but from p. 65 onwards each leaf is a folding sheet of 2-pages text with the verso double-page map being counted as 1 in the pagination, stapled in cloth-backed pictorial papered boards, the corners rubbing. Scarce automobile touring guide.

Octavo, pp. 32, illustrated with diagrams, stapled in original pictorial wrappers (an upper corner lost from rear wrapper), one or two short marginal tears. The fourth in a series of Rural Development Booklets. The League is appealing for the installation of wireless sets on every farm and in all country hospitals and public halls.

33 Royal Insurance $65 In Commemoration of the Opening of the Royal Insurance Buildings, 414-418 Collins Street, Melbourne on the eighteenth day of March 1940. Melbourne, Stuart Taylor Printers, (1940). Quarto, illustrated in black-and-white, 32pp., ribbon-tied in original decorated wrappers (silverfished). The illustrations comprise a photographic tour of the building designed by Cedric Ballantyne, as well as a view of the 1888 Empire Buildings which were demolished to allow its construction. Napier Waller designed the main chamber's mural panels, which depict historical figures and illustrate representative Australian industries.

Bailliere, 1865 Octavo, large folding lithographed map, title-page in red and black, illustrated advertisements, an attractive copy in original embossed cloth, rear joint neatly repaired, with the binder's ticket of William Detmold. This is the first of Bailliere's Victorian Gazetteers, an alphabetical list of towns throughout Victoria. It is now very uncommon to find one of these Gazetteers complete with the map.
