In the spring of 1998 Central Missouri enjoyed the completion of an outstanding baseball facility to go with its already outstanding baseball program – James R. Crane Stadium at Robert N. Tompkins Field. A $1.2 million construction project, funded primarily by Crane, added a locker room and coaches’ offices for the Mules, an umpires dressing room, new dugouts, permanent seats, a concession stand, a press box and lights to the already existing playing field. In the fall of 2004, a new facility was added to include indoor batting cages and bullpens, a weight room, storage facility, and umpires dressing room. Following that in 2006, permanent seatback chairs were installed for the fans. All of this was funded by Crane. In the summer of 2013, the stadium received another upgrade with a new grass playing surface being installed. On January 21, 1998, Central Missouri’s Board of Governors approved the naming of the facility, formerly known as Mules’ Field, in honor of Crane and Tompkins.

Spread the word to other former ACS employees — and don’t delay, because any money that’s not claimed by Sept. 1 will go back to ACS. The suit, Bell et al. v. Affiliated Computer Services Inc., ACS Commercial Solutions Inc., and Livebridge Inc., was filed in December 2009 by four ACS employees. ACS settled on July 12. The employees said ACS had required them to be at work with- out a computer workstation avail- able on which to clock in, and that the company’s manual time cor- rection forms didn’t capture all work time. They also said ACS didn’t pay employees all the bonuses they earned and didn’t correctly calculate overtime pay. In the settlement agreement, ACS said it denies the plantiffs’ allegations, but it agreed to a set- tlement because of the expense of defending against them.

The only thing Mesoraco is lacking, really, is time. Mesoraco isn't expected to be on the Opening Day roster after camp breaks because he hasn't built up enough of a catching workload yet. "I'd just say it's unlikely," Reds manager Bryan Price said on Sunday. "We can't rehabilitate him [in the Majors]. We tried to have scheduled off-days for him last year. For me, we're better served with him being 100 percent and saying if he needs to catch three days in a row, he catches three days in a row. If we say we want him to go every other day, you can't do that. "Let's say every other day he catches one day and [Tucker] Barnhart takes a foul tip off his thumb and needs a couple of days. Devin's got to be the guy that plays. It's unfair to him for us to activate him before he's ready to handle the workload." Mesoraco, 28, has been limited to 39 games over the last two seasons -- including 18 behind the plate.

Most notable of the group is Cincinnati's recent free-agent signee, starting pitcher Scott Feldman, who will be with Team Israel. Reliever Jumbo Diaz will pitch for the Dominican Republic, second baseman Dilson Herrera will be with Colombia and non-roster catcher Shawn Zarraga will play for the Netherlands. Feldman, who turned 34 on Tuesday, was signed to a one-year, $2.3 million contract on Jan. 26, and he is expected to be Cincinnati's No. 4 starter. He was 7-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 40 games (five starts) with the Astros and Blue Jays this past season. Diaz, 32, has been with the Reds in each of the past three seasons, but he isn't a lock for a bullpen spot this spring. In 45 games in 2016, he had a 3.14 ERA, retired 30 of 45 first batters faced and allowed six of 19 inherited runners to score.
