  • Devon Allman, Son of Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band, Leads His Band Called Honey Tribe and He Is a Member of Royal Southern Brotherhood As Well
Singer/guitarist Devon Allman, son of Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band, leads his band called Honey Tribe and he is a member of Royal Southern Brotherhood as well. Now Devon has recorded his first solo album that is made up songs that are written about his personal life along with one Tom Petty cover song. The 2013 International Blues Challenge was held in Memphis from January 29 – February 2. Ghost Town Blues Band from Memphis did not win, but they did make it to the top ten. They have released two excellent albums and can be seen performing at many local venues. Former Memphian Little G. Weevil won the solo/duo category and best guitarist in that category at the IBC. His excellent album The Teaser is a great example of why he won. Boz Scaggs came to Memphis to record his new album titled, surprisingly enough, Memphis. Most surprising is how well he handles the soul and blues songs on Memphis. Devon Allman – Turquoise Devon Allman is Gregg Allman’s son, but he grew up with his mom in Corpus Christi, Texas, away from the rock & roll lifestyle. He didn’t even meet his dad until he was a teenager, but they are now very close. While Devon was influenced by The Allman Brothers, he was also influenced by a myriad of other musicians and styles of music, so he really doesn’t sound much like The Allman Brothers. Devon has his own unique sound, both in his guitar playing and his singing. Some have tried to compare him to his uncle Duane, but aside from both having blonde hair and favoring Les Paul guitars, there aren’t a lot of similarities.

She got her start going to a local K.C. venue called Knuckleheads Saloon and watching modern blues guitarist like Mike Zito and Tab Benoit. Fish said she “fell in love with it and started doing my homework by listening to the old guys like Son House and Skip James.” In 2011, she teamed up with Cassie Taylor and Dani Wilde for the Blues Caravan Tour and Ruf Records release called Girls with Guitars. In 2012, she put out her first release called Runaway that was produced by Mike Zito. It won Best New Artist Debut at the 2012 Blues Music Awards. • NEW STUDIO ALBUM KILL OR BE KIND RELEASED on FRIDAY 20Th SEPTEMBER on ROUNDER RECORDS
d NEW STUDIO ALBUM KILL OR BE KIND RELEASED ON FRIDAY 20th SEPTEMBER ON ROUNDER RECORDS DISTRIBUTED BY PROPER MUSIC IN THE UK Pre-Order from Amazon Genre-bending guitarist, singer, and songwriter Samantha Fish will release her new studio album Kill Or Be Kind on Friday 20th September 2019 on Rounder Records and distributed in the UK by Proper Music. Fish's incendiary live performances have been mesmerizing audiences all over the globe. Now, with Kill Or Be Kind, Fish is poised for a major breakthrough. The edgy roots music album was recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis and produced by three-time Grammy winner Scott Billington and mixed by two-time Grammy winner Steve Reynolds. Boasting 11 original songs ranging from the electric cigar box stomp of "Bulletproof" to the sweet Memphis R&B of "Trying Not To Fall in Love With You", the album is sure to establish Fish as a potent force in roots music. The Kansas City-born-and-bred musician flirts with tradition but pushes genre boundaries to create a sound that's distinctly her own: "She Don't Live Here Anymore", co-written by Parker Millsap, features a Memphis soul underpinning with a sustained vibrato guitar sound that edges toward country. "Love Your Lies" persuasively straddles punk, rockabilly, and soul; while "You Got It Bad (Better Than You Ever Had)" is a classic blues rocker, thick with layered guitars and a cigar box solo. She shows off her range with the sweetly wistful "Dream Girl" and the cathartic, blues saturated "Farewell My Fair Weather".

  • The Devon Allman Project - Bio
The Devon Allman Project - Bio When you’re part of a musical dynasty, it’s only natural that the personal and professional aspects of your life should intersect. It was no different for Devon Allman, whose late father Gregg Allman helped helm one of the most important and influential American bands of the past 50 years. It’s also little wonder that the younger Allman, an accomplished singer, songwriter and guitarist in his own right, should feel the tug of family responsibility and the desire to honor his father’s fabled legacy. It was also only natural that following his father’s passing on May 27, 2017, Devon would take time to grieve his loss, be with his family and consider his own plans going forward. After all, he had been on the road continuously for twelve years, playing an average of 250 dates a year. Consequently he took six months off to rally around his loved ones and “rack up more time with my kid,” as he put it. That included monthly visits to see relatives on the West Coast and taking the time to heal and rearm himself with the impetus and inspiration needed to embark upon the next phase of his career. “It felt good to take that time off,” Devon says in retrospect. “I needed to step back and make up for lost time with the people that are close to me.” Even so, he didn’t neglect music entirely. On December 8, 2017, on what would have been Gregg Allman’s 70th birthday, Devon and a group of special friends celebrated the elder Allman’s life and music with a special concert at the iconic Fillmore in San Francisco.
