Emate 300 User's Manual
1 Writing and Drawing This chapter teaches you how best to write and draw on the eMate 300. There are several methods and tools you can use to enhance recognition, correct mistakes, and manipulate text and drawings. Go through the chapter to find the best tools for your needs. About recognition This section offers a general description of handwriting recognition used on your eMate and discusses some of the factors that may affect how well it recognizes your handwriting. When you write on your eMate, you write in normal printed or cursive characters, as well as numbers, punctuation, and gestures. Often you write English words, but not always. 1 The eMate tries to detect when you are writing English words, abbreviations, and common expressions. It uses a large dictionary to aid in recognizing these things quickly and accurately. When you write things that are neither simple numbers nor English words (such as initials, dates, telephone numbers, file names, or serial numbers) your eMate tries to match the characters you write to the common patterns of these entries. If no such pattern can be discerned, your eMate does its best to recognize the characters individually. Generally speaking, your eMate is somewhat better at recognizing poorly formed characters if they are part of English words (or other items that are in the eMate's dictionary). When you’re writing things such as license plate numbers, you’ll find that extra care in forming your characters neatly contributes to improved accuracy. Your eMate distinguishes characters and words in part by detecting pauses in your writing. -

Analysis of Innovation in the Video Game Industry
Siete i miei fiorellini. Senza di voi tutto questo non sarebbe stato possibile. Grazie, vi voglio bene. III IV Abstract During the last couple decades video game consoles and arcades have been subjected to the unexpected, swift development and spread of mobile gaming. What is it though that allowed physical platforms to yet maintain the market share they have over these new and widely accessible online resources? The aim of this thesis is to provide a deeper understanding of the concept of innovation in the quickly developing world of video games. The analysis is carried out with qualitative methods, one based on technological development in the context of business history and one on knowledge exchange and networking. Throughout this examination it has been possible to explore what kind of changes and innovations were at first applied by this industry and then extended to other fields. Some examples would be motion control technology, AR (Augmented Reality) or VR (Virtual Reality), which were originally developed for the video game industry and eventually were used in design, architecture or in the medical field. -
Manual Text Entry Remains One of the Dominant Forms of Human- Computer Interaction

This is because textual communication is one of the main reasons for using computers. Mobile and pervasive computing have been popular research areas re- cently. Thus, these issues have a major part in the thesis at hand. Most of the text entry methods that are discussed are for mobile computers. One of the three main contributions of the work is an architecture for a middle- ware system intended to support personalized text entry in an environment permeated with mobile and non-mobile computers. The two other main contributions in this thesis are experimental work on text entry methods and models of user performance in text entry tasks. -
Afidus Joystick J782UKB
First Part:OEM Mapper Operation 1.1 OEM Mapper Overview The OEM Mapper is a utility program which allows you to program the various DS OEM Joystick devices to control mouse, joystick, and character-based function. It consists of a User Interface program, DSMapper.exe, that allows you to define the actions that the various device are to perform. To execute these functions, it depends on the DS OEM Mapper Driver Subsystem. The OEM Mapper uses a user-defined "map" file to define the relationship between the Afidus Joystick J782UKB controls on the actual USB devices (axes, buttons, etc.) and the virtual system devices (mouse, keyboard, and joysticks) that carry out the appropriate functions. The map file is created using the OEM Mapper GUI, CHMapper.exe. Once the map has been created, it is downloaded to the driver subsystem using the GUI and the desired control functions become available. 1.2 OEM Mapper GUI The DS Mapper.exe file contains the OEM Mapper GUI. The GUI is the key to programming and operating your DS USB devices under the OEM Mapper. An entry for this will have been created in the OEM Mapper Group when the Setup program was run. The GUI provides the functions necessary to create and edit user maps. This section gives a brief description of the various areas on the OEM Mapper GUI screen. The following sections will cover these areas in more detail. When you start the Mapper GUI, you'll see a screen that looks something like this: The screen is generally divided into three areas. -
Samantha Losben
Losben 1 Samantha Losben Handling Complex Media April 19, 2011 Assignment #1 Preserving Nintendo’s Duck Hunt In the mid 1980s, home video game systems began to revitalize after the game market crash of 1983 as a result of over saturation of the market. One of the leading game systems to emerge afterwards was the Japanese company Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Nintendo became a fan favorite with the introduction of popular games such as Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, Paperboy, Donkey Kong, and many more. Several popular games were spin-offs of other games, for instance Donkey Kong led to a Super Mario Bros spin-off. Some games were sold as combinations, giving players an option to play different games on the same cartridge. One such popular “bonus game” was Duck Hunt, which was originally featured as a “B-Side” game on the original Super Mario Bros., which was often included with the original NES console. However, Duck Hunt was a unique game, which required additional hardware. Throughout the later part of the 20th century and early 21st century, gaming systems continued to advance. NES, along with its competitors such as Sony Playstation and Sega introduced several models and different generations. Nintendo introduced Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and most recently Nintendo Wii. Several classic and popular games from the original NES were re-introduced or re-imagined on the newer consoles; however, some games remain only a memory to the gaming fan base. Duck Hunt was a unique game that is physically attached to the original NES. As a unique gaming experience that was never truly Losben 2 replicated, Duck Hunt is a historic game experience that needs to be preserved. -
