1967 APBA PRO FOOTBALL SET ROSTER the Following Players Comprise the 1967 Season APBA Pro Football Player Card Set
1967 APBA PRO FOOTBALL SET ROSTER The following players comprise the 1967 season APBA Pro Football Player Card Set. The regular starters at each position are listed first and should be used most frequently. Realistic use of the players below will generate statistical results remarkably similar to those from real life. IMPORTANT: When a Red "K" appears in the R-column as the result on any kind of running play from scrimmage or on any return, roll the dice again, refer to the K-column, and use the number there for the result. When a player has a "K" in his R-column, he can never be used for kicking or punting. If the symbol "F-K" or "F-P" appears on a players card, it means that you use the K or P column when he recovers a fumble. Players in bold are starters. If there is a difference between the player's card and the roster sheet, always use the card information. The number in ()s after the player name is the number of cards that the player has in this set. See below for a more detailed explanation of new symbols on the cards. DESIRE AND SELFHOOD GLOBAL CHINESE RELIGIOUS HEALING IN PENANG, MALAYSIA A Dissertation Presented to the Faculty of the Graduate School of Cornell University In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy by I-Fan Wu December 2018 © 2018 I-Fan Wu DESIRE AND SELFHOOD GLOBAL CHINESE RELIGIOUS HEALING IN PENANG, MALAYSIA I-Fan Wu, Ph. D. Cornell University 2018 This dissertation is an ethnographic examination of Chinese meditators who, propelled by their suffering, pursue alternative religious healing education to harmonize their conflicts with social others and to answer their existential questions. Using Lacan’s analysis of desire as an analytic with which to understand two religious healing schools—Bodhi Heart Sanctuary in Penang with global lecturers, and Wise Qigong centers in Penang, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen—this dissertation delineates and explains how, in the Chinese diaspora, unconscious desires are expressed through alternative religious healing systems. The doctrines of Bodhi Heart Sanctuary and Wise Qigong follow a similar internal logic: they teach their disciples to submit themselves to a new alterity that resembles Confucianism, requiring self-submission if not asceticism. In so doing, practitioners, misrecognizing the source of their self-making, claim to transcend their suffering by overcoming their desires with the guidance of the new alterity, which represents a new form of ego-ideal. By attaching themselves to the best object—Buddha’s Right View, or hunyuan qi, the “primordial energy”—practitioners believe that they revitalize themselves as they address and work through the existential dilemmas involved in everyday interactions. This dissertation explicates the process through which Chinese forms of “self-help” therapy make sense to people as a manifestation of cross-cultural human existential concerns while these concerns take distinctively Chinese forms. -

The Lombardi Sweep
THE COFFIN CORNER: Vol. 19, No. 5 (1997) The Lombardi Sweep The Signature Play of the Green Bay Dynasty, It Symbolized An Era By Ed Gruver "Starr hands off to Hornung, sweep to the left side, he's got some blocks... He's at the five, cuts into the end zone for the touchdown! Forrest Gregg cleared the way with a beautiful block, the two guards, Jerry Kramer and Fuzzy Thurston, did a great job of pulling, and there you saw the Green Bay Packers Power Sweep..." For nearly a decade, the Green Bay Packers' Power Sweep was the dominant play in pro football. It was the signature play of Vince Lombardi's offensive scheme, and anyone who watched the NFL on CBS in the 1960s heard sportscaster Ray Scott make calls, like the one above from the 1965 championship against Cleveland, numerous times. The Lombardi Sweep was as much a part of the NFL landscape in the 1960s as a Jimmy Brown pitchout or a John Unitas sideline pass to Raymond Berry, and the Packers rode their number one running play to five NFL titles and victories in the first two Super Bowls. Like most Lombardi plays, the sweep relied on a minimum of deception but a maximum of effort. The pulling guards formed a convoy around end, with the lead guard taking out the cornerback and the offside guard picking up the middle linebacker or outside linebacker. The center executed a cutoff block on the defensive tackle, and the onside offensive tackle popped the defensive end and then sealed off the middle linebacker. -
Locating African Agency in Africa-China Relations
Beyond Fuelling The Dragon: Locating African Agency in Africa-China Relations by Isaac Odoom A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Department of Political Science University of Alberta © Isaac Odoom, 2016 Abstract The growing presence and influence of China across the African continent has attracted considerable local and international attention and even controversy. On the one hand, the burgeoning ‘China in Africa’ literature tends to focus on pessimistic assertions about the exploitative aspects of the engagement, and China is frequently represented as a twenty-first century (neo)colonial power that is plundering Africa's natural resources while corrupt, or at best passive, African leaders fuel the metaphorical dragon. On the other hand, more optimistic claims about China’s engagement focus on notions of mutual benefits, lack of explicit and burdensome conditionalities, and the economic development opportunities presented by such engagement. What such polarising representations often ignore are questions of African agency and, specifically, the diverse factors that account for the growth in African state interactions with China, and how diverse African actors respond to Chinese engagement. Drawing on a critical African political economy perspective placed into productive engagement with postcolonial approaches and subaltern studies, I investigate the intensification of Africa-China linkages and focus on African agency in Africa-China relations. Specifically, this dissertation draws on the case of Ghana to interrogate the factors that drive Ghana’s growing economic relations with China. It explores ways in which Ghanaian actors and institutions engage, shape, negotiate, accommodate, and resist Chinese actors’ involvement in Ghana.
