Series Description

This series consists of files of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (ARC) Center Director (1969-1977) and Deputy Administrator (1981- 1984) Hans M. Mark. Records contain materials primarily from his tenure as Deputy Administrator reflecting policy studies and analysis; files on program development; correspondence, and memoranda between NASA officials, private sources, and other U.S. Government agencies; records of official meetings; and speeches given before various organizations. Specifically, this series contains correspondence files; meetings files; oral histories; appointment calendars; speeches; congressional briefings and budget files; Space Station Freedom (SSF); aeronautics research; and space policy. Hans Mark’s personal papers are held by the Briscoe Center for American History, University of Texas at Austin. Speeches held by the HRC have been digitized and placed on the public DMS. Mark’s oral histories held in the HRC have been digitized and are currently available upon request.
