Montreal, July 18, 2019 - Groupe 3737’s organizing committee for the 2019 Match of Legends are excited to announce officially that, in addition to the two headliners of the game, Ronaldinho and Patrice Bernier, another international Legend loved and revered by Montreal and Quebec soccer fans will be playing at the 2019 Match of Legends on August 4, 2019 at Saputo Stadium.

«The King» is back! Didier Drogba, player of the Montreal Impact in 2015 and 2016, former Chelsea FC icon and charismatic leader of the Elephants, the national selection of the Ivory Coast, has confirmed his presence for this new and spectacular event, a first edition in Canada. Drogba, who has forever marked the history of the Montreal soccer club has been the champion of the Premier League (2005, 2006, 2010 and 2015), the UEFA Champions League (2012), the Turkish Cup (2014) and the Turkish SuperCup (2013).
The first edition of the Montreal Legends of Soccer Weekend will take place from August 2 to 4 2019. It will be a social, cultural and sports fest honoring Quebec’s most practiced sport. It will also be a rallying and original match that aims at establishing Montreal’s positioning for the FIFA World Cup, to be held in Canada, the United States and Mexico in 2026..
