AFC Bournemouth is a professional football club based in Kings Park, Boscombe. AFC Bournemouth play their football in the Premier League, the top tier of the English football league system. Formed in 1899 as Boscombe St. John’s Institute F.C., the club adopted their current name in 1972. Nicknamed “The Cherries”, Bournemouth have played their home games at Dean Court since 1910. Their home colours are red and black striped shirts, with black shorts and black and red socks. AFC Bournemouth play their home fixtures at Vitality stadium, which has a capacity of 11, 464.

Under current manager Eddie Howe, AFC Bournemouth have risen through the English football pyramid, after gaining promotion from League Two, League One and the Championship. The 2015–16 season was their first ever in the top - light and they have remained there ever since.

Since being in the Premier League, AFC Bournemouth have had a highest placed finish of 9th place (2016-17), with other finishes including 16th place (2015-16), 12th place (2017-18) and 14th place (2018-19).
