Premier League, 2018–2019 “The Premier League is one of the most difficult in the world. There's five, six, or seven clubs that can be the champions. Only one can win, and all the others are disappointed and live in the middle of disaster.” —Jurgen Klopp Hello Delegates! My name is Matthew McDermut and I will be directing the Premier League during WUMUNS 2018. I grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey, a town not far from New York City. I am currently in my junior year at Washington University, where I am studying psychology within the pre-med track. This is my third year involved in Model UN at college and my first time directing. Ever since I was a kid I have been a huge soccer fan; I’ve often dreamed of coaching a real Premier League team someday. I cannot wait to see how this committee plays out. In this committee, each of you will be taking the helm of an English Football team at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. Your mission is simple: climb to the top of the world’s most prestigious football league, managing cutthroat competition on and off the pitch, all while debating pressing topics that face the Premier League today. Some of the main issues you will be discussing are player and fan safety, competition with the world’s other top leagues, new rules and regulations, and many more. If you have any questions regarding how the committee will run or how to prepare feel free to email me at [email protected].

Version 1.2 of this game changed the colour of its antagonist's blood from red to green and replaced a musical theme that had been criticised for resembling a Muslim call to prayer. A stealth section in this game sees the player infiltrate the Gerudo Fortress while a race against Dampe's ghost allows the player to acquire the Hookshot. Its climactic battle forces the player to fight without the Master Sword following Link's first face-off against Ganondorf. “The Special One” lähtee seuraavana Valioliigavalmentajista Swansea City ilmoitti keskiviikkona valmentaja Garry Monkin potkuista. José Mourinho on seuraava valioliigavalmentaja, jolle näytetään ovea, ainakin jos ahvenanmaalaisen peliyhtiö Pafin kertoimet pitävät kutinsa. Walesilaisen Swansean johtoporras sai keskiviikkona tarpeekseen joukkueen heikoista tuloksista tämän kauden Valioliigassa. Valmentaja Garry Monk, jonka alaisuudessa joukkue on voittanut vain kolme viidestätoista tämän sarjakauden ottelustaan, sai kokea seuraukset potkujen muodossa. Pafin vedonvälittäjien mukaan päätös oli odotettu. Garry ”Monkey” Monkin potkujen saamiselle annettu kerroin oli matala 1.10. Kertoimien mukaan Chelsean José Mourinho on seuraavana vuorossa saada potkut. Paf antaa kertoimen 2.25 sille, että The Special One saa lähteä lontoolaisesta suurseurasta. Kertoimen myötä Mourinho on luultavin seuraavaksi potkut saava Premier League-valmentaja. ”Vuodenvaihde on aina myrskyisää aikaa englantilaisessa jalkapallossa. Monet seurat tarkastelevat pelaaja- ja valmentajamateriaaliaan. On kuitenkin poikkeuksellista, että hallitsevan Valioliigamestarin manageri, Chelsean José ”The Special One” Mourinho, on lähimpänä potkuja kaikista Valioliigan valmentajista”, Pafin viestintäpäälikkö Mattias Lindquist sanoo. Chelsea varmisti keskiviikkoiltana jatkopaikkansa Mestareiden liigassa voittamalla Porton 2–0 kotikentällään, samana päivänä kun Garry Monk sai potkut Swanseasta. Jää nähtäviksi, kuinka paljon voitto auttaa Mourinhoa pitämään työpaikkansa, kun Chelsea edelleen

Premier League Managers – nationality and club playing history since 1992 Football Economics September 2016 Football Economics Introduction In this analysis, we look over the life of the Premier League to consider the extent to which top-flight clubs still look to former players to manage their club and at the shifting mix of nationalities of top-flight managers with a focus on English managers. Eddie Howe at Bournemouth and Alan Pardew are examples of English managers returning to the teams they played for. Still, these are the only two English Premier League managers to have played for their club, and indeed, only one other current Premier League Manager has done so. But how does this compare to the longer- term trend? Of course, managers that have a successful history at a club usually enjoy at least a period of goodwill from fans and, along with a familiarity with the club’s set-up and area, and the fact they may already be on the coaching staff could make a player a more likely candidate to be manager. Premier League Managers that played for their club Our analysis starts at the end of August 1992 and considers five year intervals. In 1992, 9 of the 24 managers (the league shrinks to 20 in all other years) had played for their club. Examples include George Graham at Arsenal, Peter Reid at Manchester City and Graeme Souness at Liverpool.
