The group was founded approximately two years ago in San Francisco and since then grown rapidly with each meeting averaging about thirty plus attendees. Weekly meetings now occur in cities all over the U.S. including Los Angeles, Portland, Nashville, Boston and across the San Fran- cisco Bay Area. Al Evers is the founder and owner of A-Train Entertainment, started in 1985 for inde- pendent artists to receive professional assistance in developing and managing their musical careers. Over the years, A-Train has expanded to include publishing administra- tion, artist management, physical and digital distribution, international sales and more. A-Train administers over 200,000 song titles, all while keeping ownership in the hands of the artists who created them. The catalog of digitally distributed titles doubled in 2015 and similar growth is anticipated in 2016. Chris Faville: Born and raised in Marin, Faville played guitar in rock bands through high school and earned a BA in music from SF State University with a major in classical clarinet. He has been an agent and partner at Mongrel Music since 1992 where he rep- resents 30+ artists exclusively for North American booking with a few overseas outliers. Prior to coming to Mongrel, Faville was an agent with the Rosebud Agency. Brian Griffith is the Radio Music Director at KRCB and the On Air Host of KRCB Music Mornings. Griffith was also a longtime writer and producer for Westwood One and Global Satellite Network in Los Angeles. He has served as Segment Producer for the Larry King show and produced live concert broadcasts for WW1. Prior to his current work at KRCB he was the morning show host at KRSH. Stephen Hart is a veteran recording engineer, mixer, producer and consultant in the recording and music industry. He is currently the owner-operator of "mixroom LLC" a mixing and mastering facility in Sonoma County and is chief engineer at "Tin Roof Recording" in Sonoma County. He has held other engineering/mixing stints at The Site Recording, Fantasy Studios, and The Plant Studios. Hart has contributed to the sales of over 40 million units with clients as diverse as David Bowie, Oscar Peterson, Garcia Band, White Stripes and MC Hammer. Shiloh Hodel: A professional vocalist, keyboardist and composer, Hodel has per- formed on releases with artists including as wide ranging as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Howard Hewett and Ted Nugent. She spent more than 5 years in management at the Record Plant Recording Studios in Sausalito, California where she worked legend- ary engineer Tom Dowd and music icons including Journey, Starship, Rick James, Santana, Huey Lewis and the News. Shiloh was later recruited as Production Manager for Bay Area producer and musician. Richard Idell has been a premier entertainment lawyer in the Bay Area for over 28 years handling both trial and transactional matters involving music, film and in particu- lar, live entertainment. His clients include venues and promoters including Another Planet Entertainment, Shorenstein Hays Nederlander Theatres, Latitude 38 Entertain- ment and the San Francisco Symphony. Outdoor music festivals that Idell has advised include Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, Treasure Island Music Festival and BottleRock Music Festival. Jim Jacobs oversees all Lagunitas-owned events: he was instrumental in creating the Lagunitas Beer Circuses, Skunk Train camp outs and SXSW marketing efforts, and has managed sponsorships with USA Olympic Ski Jumping, Live Nation, SXSW Eco, IMFCON and Americana Music Association. In 2014, Jim managed the Lagunitas Music Team and its popular Amphitheater Concert Series. In January 2016, Jim transitioned to take on the newly developed role of Director of Community Giving where he will oversee the Donation Department. Griff Morris is the Senior Manager for Artist and Industry Strategy for Amazon Music. He previously served as Amazon’s Senior Manager of Content Licensing and Vendor Management but left briefly to work for the Swedish record label X5 Music Group. Prior to his work at Amazon Music, Morris was a Vice President for the GRAMMY and MusiCares Foundations. Morris began his career working for the San Francisco and Chicago Lawyers for the Arts organizations providing low-cost legal services for artists. Josh Norek is the president of Regalías Digitales LLC, a firm that helps hundreds of Latin recording artists collect their music royalties and license their songs to film/TV productions. He is a co-founder of the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC), and is also co-host of the nationally syndicated public radio show ‘The Latin Alternative,’ which airs on more than 45 radio stations across the United States. Previously, Norek served for ten years as VP of Business Affairs & Digital for Nacional Records, the lead- ing record label for Latin rock and hip-hop. Lia Rose has been active in the Bay Area independent music scene since 2005, working in the bands Built for the Sea, Or, The Whale, and Minipop, among others. After nearly a decade performing in bands, Rose launched a solo career and has opened for Huey Lewis & The News, John Doe (of X), Steve Poltz, & Jill Sobule. She has lent her voice to friends Jeff Campbell (including a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live), Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, Tumbleweed Wanderers, and Goodnight, Texas, and her music has been heard on ABC-TV’s Nashville. Merl Saunders, Jr. is Executive Director of the Fenix – a new performance space/ recording studio/restaurant in San Rafael. Saunders began his career as a touring mu- sician and went on to production/touring work with musicians from Robert Cray and Frank Zappa to Michael Jackson. Saunders then moved into executive roles in at Gib- son Guitars, Dean Markley Strings and the GRAMMYs. He pursues his philanthropic passion through work with The Taylor Family Foundation, Bread and Roses, Music in the Schools Today and the Narada Michael Walden Foundation. Julie Schuchard is the co-founder of Tricycle Records, a Bay Area indie label founded in 2006. She has more than a decade of experience in music marketing, artist develop- ment, and project management for commercial record releases. She also serves on the Board for the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy, and is also an accomplished music photographer. Michael Winger is the Executive Director of The Recording Academy San Francisco Chapter. Winger began his music career touring 200 days a year in the 1990’s with his Athens, GA based band, Dayroom followed by a short stint as a solo artist. In 2001, he moved to San Francisco and co-founded Flying Kitchen Recording, where he captured and mixed artists such as Jason Mraz, Regina Spektor, Tom Petty, and Feist. He worked as Recording Supervisor for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and designed live sound design for the Kronos Quartet among others. .
