(c) The exchange rate is Xxed by bank consortium

(d) The exchange rate is Xxed by Govt together with private players

(e) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(a) Exp: A pegged exchange rate system is a hybrid of Txed and toating exchange rate regimes. Typically, a country will "peg" its currency to a major currency such as the U.S. dollar, or to a basket of currencies. The choice of the currency (or basket of currencies) is affected by the currencies in which the country's external debt is denominated and the extent to which the country's trade is concentrated with particular trading partners. The case for pegging to a single currency is made stronger if the peg is to the currency of a principal trading partner. If much of the country's debt is denominated in other currencies, the choice of which currency to peg it to becomes more complicated.

(a) Decreased

(b) Increased

(c) Kept constant

(d) zero

(e) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(b) Exp: Devaluation is a deliberate downward adjustment of the value of a country's currency relative to another currency, group of currencies or standard. Countries that have a Txed exchange rate or semi- Txed exchange rate use this monetary policy tool. It is often confused with depreciation and is the opposite of revaluation. One reason a country may devalue its currency is to combat a trade imbalance. Devaluation reduces the cost of a country's exports, rendering them more competitive in the global market. This, in turn, increases the cost of imports so that domestic consumers are less likely to purchase them, further strengthening domestic businesses.

A) Balance in income and expenditure of govt

B) Balance in demand and supply of money

C) Balance in export and import earnings

D) The annual account of foreign trade

(E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(D) Exp: The balance of payments (BOP), also known as balance of international payments, summarizes all transactions that a country's individuals, companies and government bodies complete with individuals, companies and government bodies outside the country. These transactions consist of imports and exports of goods, services and capital, as well as transfer payments such as foreign aid and remittances. The sum of all transactions recorded in the balance of payments must be zero, as long as the capital account is deTned broadly. The reason is that every credit appearing in the current account has a corresponding debit in the capital account, and vice-versa. If a country exports an item (a current account credit), it effectively imports foreign capital when that item is paid for (a capital account debit).

Speed=5∗5/18=25/18m/sec Time=15∗60seconds=900seconds Distance=Time∗Speed Distance=2518∗900=1250meter

Add individual feedback 87. A Man travelled a distance of 61 km in 9 hours. He travelled 0 / 1 partly on foot at 4 km/hr and partly on bicycle at 9 km/hr. What is the distance travelled on foot?

A) 16 km

B) 14 km

C) 12 km

D) 10 km

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(A) Explanation:

Let the time in which he travelled on foot = x hour Time for travelling on bicycle = (9 - x) hr

Distance = Speed * Time, and Total distance = 61 km So, 4x + 9(9-x) = 61 => 5x = 20 => x = 4

So distance traveled on foot = 4(4) = 16 km

Add individual feedback 88. 2 trains starting at the same time from 2 stations 200 km 0 / 1 apart and going in opposite direction cross each other at a distance of 110 km from one of the stations. What is the ratio of their speeds ?

A) 11:9

B) 13:9

C) 17:9

D) 21:9

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

B) 16 hours

C) 17 hours

D) 18 hours

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(C) Exp: Explanation:

In this type of questions we need to get the relative speed between them, The relative speed of the boys = 5.5kmph – 5kmph = 0.5 kmph

Distance between them is 8.5 km Time = Distance/Speed Time= 8.5km / 0.5 kmph = 17 hrs

Add individual feedback 91. The ratio between the speeds of two trains is 7: 8. If the 0 / 1 second train runs 400 kms in 4 hours, then the speed of the Xrst train is ?

B) 84.5 km/hr

C) 86.5 km/hr

D) 87.5 km/hr

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(D) Explanation:

Let the speeds of two trains be 7X and 8X km/hr.

8X=400/4=>X=12.5Km/hr

So speed of Trst train is 12.5*7 = 87.5 km/hr

D) 9 km

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Feedback

Ans:(A) 3 km Explanation:

Let the distance be 3x km, then, x/3+x/4+x/5=47/60 => 47x/60=47/60 => x=1

So total distance = 3*1 = 3 Km

A) 10 am

B) 11 am

C) 12 pm

D) 1 pm

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

x=3.

B) J.J. Thomson

C) Rutherford

D) Goldstein

E) None of the above/ More than one of the above.

Correct answer

B) J.J. Thomson

Feedback

Ans:(B) Exp: Thomson atomic model was proposed by William Thomson in the year 1900. This model explained the description of an inner structure of the atom theoretically. It was strongly supported by Sir Joseph Thomson, who had discovered the electron earlier.

During cathode ray tube experiment, a negatively charged particle was discovered by J.J. Thomson. This experiment took place in the year 1897. Cathode ray tube is a vacuum tube. The negative particle was called an electron.

Thomson assumed that an electron is two thousand times lighter than a proton and believed that an atom is made up of thousands of electrons. In this atomic structure model, he considered atoms surrounded by a cloud having positive as well as negative charges. The demonstration of the ionization of air by X-ray was also done by him together with Rutherford. They were the Trst to demonstrate it. Thomson’s model of an atom is similar to a plum pudding.
