Gov. Malloy has vowed to veto the bill once it gets to his office. Connecticut State Colleges and Universities President Mark Ojakian said the cuts would have a “profound impact on CSCU students.” According to Ojakian, the cuts will have a lasting damage to their ability to serve students and, if the trend of less funding from the state persists, will only put more burdens on their shoulders. “If we continue on this path, any options we consider to sustain our system in the future will include significant increases to tuition and fees that our students don’t deserve and cannot afford,” said Ojakian. Jonathon Wharton, a professor of political science at Southern Connecticut State University, said the bill will most likely get vetoed by Gov. Malloy unless it gets amended to his liking. If this doesn’t happen, he said, once Oct. 1 comes around PHOTO | PALMER PIANA the state budget will be in the Students, who asked not to be named, using tobacco products in front of Engleman . governor’s hands. “That’s disconcerting,” Wharton said. “We’re gonna allow the exec- utive branch to lead this and the related illnesses,” said Rosenthal.

  • Rick Joaquim – Dop / Cinematographer
Rick Joaquim – DoP / Cinematographer BIOGRAPHY: Rick Joaquim is an award-winning Cinematographer who is constantly in demand. From short films and music videos for South Africa's leading artists to Commercials for clients including the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO, KIA Cars, Doritos, Castle Beer, BMW and Virgin shooting for Sir Richard Branson. “When you see Rick’s work, it takes a minute for you to put your finger on why you simply can’t look away. Soon you get it. There’s a kind of magic holding your gaze in every frame. For sure all the technical genius is present, but it’s his empathy with the subject matter that keeps you riveted. His love and respect for narrative is what drove him to film in the first place, but his dedication to each story - is what makes each picture a joy to watch. “If the composition and lighting don’t bring the audience closer in, I’ve missed the point.” Says Rick. “Telling every part of a story beautifully is why I am here.” Rick is generous, determined and focused on bringing the heart of the piece into the light. He is also one of the best humans you’ll ever meet. Which is probably why he finds the kind of moments ordinary people overlook.” – Dani Hynes, Egg Films Director Rick has been fortunate enough to travel the world for his work and win a few awards along the way including "Best Film" at the 48 Hour Film Project Johannesburg both in 2014 and 2016 respectively, “Best Short Film” at the Silwerskerm Festival 2018 Awards for a film he shot titled “Axis Mundi”.

  • Mother's Prayer
mother's prayer our mother who art underfoot, hallowed be thy names, thy seasons come, thy will be done, within us as around us, thank you for our daily bread, our water, our air, and our lives and so much beauty; lead us not into selfishcraving and the destructions that are the hungers of the glutted, but deliver us from wanton consumption of thy vast but finitebounty, for thine is the only sphere of life we know, and the power and the glory, forever and ever, amen adapted by rebecca solnit paradise. could there be a more ominous sound than an unexpected knock at the door? Mother (JENNIFER LAWRENCE) and Him (JAVIER BARDEM) live in a seemingly idyllic existence in a secluded paradise. But the couple’s relationship is tested when man (ED HARRIS) and woman (MICHELLE PFEIFFER) arrive at their home uninvited. Answering that knock disrupts their tranquil existence and as more and more guests arrive, mother is forced to revisit everything she knows about love, devotion and sacrifice. Paramount Pictures presents a Protozoa Production of a film by Academy Award® nominated director, Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream): Academy Award® winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) and Academy Award® winning actor Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men) in “mother!” co-starring Academy Award® nominee Ed Harris (The Truman show) and Academy Award® nominee Michelle Pfeiffer (The 1 Fabulous Baker Boys).
