Sherry Winston’s Bio

Sherry Winston has performed in many of the major concert halls throughout the U.S. including Carnegie Hall, Constitution Hall, Lincoln Center and at the Kennedy Center. She is a musician, composer, and businesswoman who handles all of her own bookings, negotiating and management of her band.

Sherry had the honor of performing for two sitting presidents. For President and Mrs. Clinton during their last holiday party at the White House, and for former President George H.W. Bush at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC.Sherry has been featured in The New York Times, Ebony, Black Enterprise, Essence and More Magazines. Sherry has been a featured guest on the Today Show, "Emeril Live," and has co-hosted and performed on 8 shows for Bet TV.

Sherry released 5 CD's with her first "Do It For Love," going to #1 on BRE and the Black Excellence Charts. "Love Madnes," and "Life is Love & Love is You," was Top 10 at Billboard Magazine.

Sherry’s third CD "Love Is…" won the WBLS"Quiet Storm" award and reached top 10 at "Radio and Records," an industry tip sheet.

Sherry's 4th CD, "Life is Love & Love is You," features the late Grover Washington, Jr.,saxophonist, , guitarist, , and the late award winning vocalist, Jon Lucien. Bobby Lyle is featured with his wonderfully powerful keyboard solo. That alone is worth the price of the CD.

On the business side, Sherry worked as Director of Promotion at Columbia, Arista, Grp and Elektra Records. She has promoted such well-known artists as , Grover Washington, jr., Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick, jr., Nancy Wilson and to name only a few.

As a performer Sherry has opened for Sinbad, Gerald Albright, Ramsey Lewis, Chaka Kahn, "Pieces of a Dream," Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle, Grover Washington, jr., Diane Reeves, Nelson Rangel, and many others.

Brandon Newsome

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Brandon Newsome was exposed to various styles of music at an early age. Often listening to his parents’ collection of records, he developed a great love and respect for music.

By the age of 13 Brandon was already playing full-time at his home church in Chicago, where he learned to further understand accompaniment. As a teenager, Brandon played drums and percussion in the hit stage plays Cabin in the Sky, and Bojo Goes Retro. He played his first major gig at the age of 17 with country/rock recording artist Rockin’ Billy & The Wild Coyotes. As the Music Director of the New Direction Gospel Choir, he became aware of the countless perspectives of musical approach.

Brandon privately studied with Professor Thomas L. Davis throughout his undergraduate years at Tennessee State University. It was during this time that he developed his incredible work ethic and began to embrace his desire to play music as his chosen profession. Brandon has recorded with numerous artists at studios such as Bravo Voice Studio, CHOMCO Digital, Headroom, Lyricanvass, and Loud Studios.

Brandon has opened for and shared the stage with Jon B., Lisa McClendon, Howard Hewitt, Stephen Hurd, Dave Hollister, Blue Magic, Dr. Bobby Jones & The Nashville Super Choir, Antonio Neal, Angela Spivey, Pastor Smokie Norful, Niyoki (formerly of ), Van Hunt, Raheem DeVaughn, Anthony Hamilton, PJ Morton, Laura Izibor, Ann Nesby, Shelly Fairchild, and many others. Tours include: 2003-hit stage play Lord Why Do I Keep Choosing the Wrong Man, 2005-The Driftors, 2009- Tonex Live Unspoken Tour.A few of Brandon’s current television appearances include Touching The World Ministries NBC+ and PBS Networks, Not Just Country –airing on Fox 17, My TV 30, BET/Word networks- Niyoki Live.

Brandon believes in accompaniment and understands his role as the drummer, when asked to give words of wisdom to peer musicians he smiles and says, “To groove is to love so fall in―. Expect great things in the future from the hands of this drummer.
