It is held in a coffee house setting where the atmosphere encourages conversation, questions, and personal stories. The weekly topics fosters spiritual discussions, but are not those topics generally discussed in churches. The hour-long Lifetree Café experience features real stories of real people, friendly conversation, time to build relationships with others, laughter, fun, spiritual insights, and opportunities to serve in the local community. The topic this week, October 12, is “Wrongly Accused: A rush to judgment destroys a life” and features a young man who was wrongly accused of murder and served 10 years of prison time before DNA proved him innocent. Following the Lifetree hour, Jeffrey Deskovic of Peekskill, NY, an innocent man who served over 16 years in prison, will lead a followup discussion based on his own experience and on the work currently being conducted by his foundation, The Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice.
