Report No. 3 – Population, Land Area, and Population Density is among the series of publications that present the results of the POPCEN 2015. This publication provides information on the population size, land area, and population density by region, province, highly urbanized city, and city/municipality based on the data from population census conducted by the PSA in the years 2000, 2010, and 2015; and data on land area by city/municipality as of December 2013 that was provided by the Land Management Bureau (LMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Also presented in this report is the percent change in the population density over the three census years. • On Child-Friendly Local Governance: a Replication
Establishing Communities of Practice on Child-Friendly Local Governance: A Replication Strategy Six LGU- awardees of the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities will comprise this year’s Communities of Practice on Child-Friendly Local Governance (CoP-CFLG). These LGU-awardees (New Lucena, Iloilo; Tubigon, Bohol; Naga City, Vigan City, Mandaluyong City and Davao City)CoP-CFLG will serve as the learning hubs/networks as LGUs that produce outstanding positive results for children through functional structures and systems for child rights promotion and child protection. For 2013, CWC was able to forged partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines to be able to implement this replication strategy. Among the accomplishments for the year are: Consultative dialogues and focus group discussion conducted among the Cop-LGUs (including representatives from the Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children) to seek their opinion and approval of being established as a replication center Customized Course Design Developed and Pre-tested. A course module that caters to the training needs of the key LGU officials and personnel on child-friendly local governance. The curriculum is a combination of theories on local governance and practical application or on- site learning encounter between the CoP-LGUs as the replication centers and the LGU- enrolees as the replicating LGUs. Competency Assessment of the six CoP-LGU conducted to determine their readiness and preparedness to be a replication center The CoP-CFLG is the replication strategy initiated by CWC to implement the recommendations of the LCPC study conducted in 2012. .
