0 Legendary Marvel Campaign: A New Menace - Chapter 1 Designed and Outlined by One More Game Written & Edited by Bageltop Games http://www.onemoregame.ch/ tinyurl.com/bageltop Discuss the campaign at the Bageltop Games discord: https://discord.gg/4mXzMWH Only the Core set of Legendary: Marvel is required for this chapter! RULES This campaign is intended to be played with 2 players (or 2 handed solo). Each choice you make will affect future events in the campaign. Follow page number instructions to avoid being spoiled. Don’t read ahead! You will have a team of 6 heroes maximum. If during the campaign you are instructed to, or have the option to add any more heroes to your team, you may need to remove a hero to avoid going over the 6 maximum. In Chapter 1, when asked to pick a hero for your team, you may only add heroes from the Core set. When it’s time to play a game, after the campaign instructs you which heroes are required for that game, add heroes from your team until you have a total of 5 heroes in the hero deck, unless the scheme specifies otherwise. Make sure to have a sheet of paper nearby to write down important information, such as your current team of heroes, your wins and losses, and anything else the campaign asks you to keep track of. This information will affect future steps of your campaign, so don’t forget to record them! The campaign will notify you of these things as events marked in bold. Sometimes you will be asked to make conditional actions. You only take these actions if you meet the criteria. The format will look like this: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF you have Iron Man on your team, start the MCU. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this example, if you had Iron Man on your team at the time you read the prompt, immediately take the resulting action (start the MCU). However, if you didn’t have Iron Man on your team, you would ignore this text and not take the resulting action (start the MCU). Continue on to the next page. 1 NOTE: If the prompt tells you to do something (i.e., add a villain group to the villain deck), you must do that action immediately. However, if the prompt tells you that you may do something, you have the option to take the action, or not take the action. Sometimes, the conditional actions provide multiple options if you don’t meet certain requirements. The format will look like this: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF you have Iron Man on your team, start the MCU. IF not: IF you have Batman on your team, you may start the DCEU. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this example, if you had Iron Man on your team, you would be required to take the corresponding action immediately (start the MCU). However, if you didn’t have Iron Man on your team, not only would you not take the action at all (start the MCU), but then you would move to the next IF prompt in the box. Some boxes will include several prompts, so make sure to go down the chain of prompts if you need to! Then, if you had Batman on your team, you may choose whether or not to take the corresponding action (start the DCEU). Pay special attention to if and when an instruction says may! That’s it! Enjoy the campaign! - One More Game & Bageltop Games Continue on to the next page. 2 Chapter 1: Special Assignment All over the news; warnings cry out. Renegade mutants are real, dangerous, and all too powerful. The only chance for the survival of the human race is to ally with friendly mutants against the dangerous ones. You are S.H.I.E.L.D. Special Agent Harrison. Your mission is to discover and assess clear and present dangers to humankind, and neutralize them, recruiting mutant and superpowered allies along the way. As a surprise presidential internal audit has been ordered and most S.H.I.E.L.D. activities have been put on hold, you will only receive minimal support from the top brass. However, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury informs you he will be joining your team. Typically he avoids this hands-on approach, but you suspect he would prefer being out in the field over the massive amount of paperwork demanded by the audit. Add Nick Fury to your team. Agent Fury informs you that he has already hired, albeit reluctantly, a mercenary whose incredible ability to quickly regenerate his injuries is only surpassed by an inability to stop cracking terrible jokes. Add Deadpool to your team. During your recruitment search, you encounter two very powerful yet seemingly friendly mutants who are both willing to aid you, however they refuse to work together in any capacity. Perhaps you could persuade them to work together after getting to know one of them. Add Cyclops or Emma Frost to your team. Your new recruit tells you about a few more superpowered allies who may assist you in your mission. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF Cyclops is on your team, you may add Wolverine to your team. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF Emma Frost is on your team, you may add Gambit to your team. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Add Storm, Rogue, and/or Spider-Man to your team, until your team has a total of 6 different heroes. Continue on to the next page. 3 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF both Deadpool and Wolverine are on your team: When Wolverine arrives, he and Deadpool lock eyes, and Deadpool immediately begins one of the most provocative dances you’ve ever seen. Wolverine glares at you, declaring his refusal to work with the now pelvic-thrusting masked mercenary. Great, that’s the last guy you wanted to antagonize. Write down “Deadpool/Wolverine Rivalry”. This means when selecting heroes for your hero deck, you cannot have both Deadpool and Wolverine in your hero deck at the same time. If you are required to use all 6 heroes, you only use 5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF both Deadpool and Spider-Man are on your team: Deadpool and Spider-Man greet each other as if they’re old friends. They both speak… so quickly. You’ve never heard more one-liners in your life. Best to keep them together, for morale. Write down “‘Deadpool + Spidey = BFFs”. This means when selecting heroes for your games, if you add either Deadpool or Spider-Man to your hero deck, you must add the other hero as well (This does not mean you go over your 5 hero limit for applicable games). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- S.H.I.E.L.D. TRANSMISSION: REPORT INCOMING You have received two reports of unusual international superhuman criminal activity: In Eastern Europe: S.H.I.E.L.D. agent codename: Hawkeye has infiltrated a massive compound, where presumably a powerful mutant has been observed manufacturing a massive amount of weaponized androids. Unfortunately, Hawkeye was captured in the process. In the American rust belt: A mutant who reportedly has the ability to manipulate metal has begun a spree of bank robberies, injuring countless civilians along the way. Captain America has requested S.H.I.E.L.D. assistance. If you decide to rescue Hawkeye in Eastern Europe, continue on to page 4. If you choose to respond to Captain America’s assistance for aid in the rust belt, go to page 7. 4 Mission 1A: Eastern Europe As you touch down on Latverian soil, you receive confirmation that there is no mutant threat! Rather, the one-and-only ruler of Latveria, Dr. Victor von Doom himself, is creating the androids. What’s more, he plans to replace the Earth’s leaders with them! Suddenly, a wave of killbots begin to swarm you and your team. GAME SETUP Mastermind: Dr. Doom Scheme: Replace Earth’s Leaders with Killbots Villains: Hydra Henchmen: Doombot Legion --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF Spider-Man is on your team, you must add him to the hero deck, AND add Spider-Foes to the villain deck. IF not: Add Masters of Evil to the villain deck. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Choose additional heroes from your team for the hero deck until you reach 5 different hero names. BEGIN! If you defeated Dr. Doom (won the game), continue on to page 5. If you did not defeat Dr. Doom (lost the game or ended in a draw), go to page 6. 5 S.H.I.E.L.D. DEBRIEF You and your team managed to destroy every last killbot, foiling Dr. Doom’s evil plan. Hawkeye was uncharacteristically grateful for his rescue. You may add Hawkeye to your team. An incoming transmission has informed you that Captain America failed to prevent the bank
