THE JAVELINA WOMEN’S tennis team has truly been playing among the wolves the past two matches. They met the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves last week in Pueblo, winning 7-0, and played the Northwood (Mich.) Timberwolves Sunday in Florida. The team swept its two matches in Florida, beating Quincy (Ill.) and Northwood by 7-0 scores.

VALERIE RUIZ, SENIOR member of the Javelina women’s tennis team, got her 100th victory in the victory over Quincy Tuesday in Orlando, Fla. She becomes the first Javelina to reach the plateau. Ruiz received the Lone Star Conference sportsmanship award last year.

THE LONE STAR Conference’s strength in men’s and women’s basketball became evident when the NCAA Division II regional teams were selected. The league got five teams out of eight in each of the divisions. And the LSC had the No. 1 seed in each division. West Texas A&M was No. 1 in the men’s selections and Lubbock Christian, defending national champion, is No. 1 in women’s play. By being the No. 1 seeds, the regional tournaments will be in Canyon and Lubbock.
