PAMinSA III Third Paleopathology Association Meeting in South America Bridges and Transitions Argentina – Necochea October 2009 THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT Dear colleagues, We have pleasure in writing to you again to tell you about the deadline for sending abstracts, options on transfers, accommodation and activities pre and post the conference that will be available for those that visit us during the 3rd Palaeopathology Association Meeting in South America (PAMinSA III) Official languages of the PAMinSA III In order to facilitate the best participation possible of the conference members, we would like to inform you that, the Meeting will take place with Spanish and English as official languages. We will provide a simultaneous interpretation from English to Spanish and vice versa. In this way each participant will be able to present their work in one of these languages, which can be translated simultaneously into the other official language of the conference. Submission of abstracts We would like to inform you that the deadline for submission of abstracts has been put back to the 15th of July. We will not be able to accept abstracts after this date. Those visitors that prefer can hire the services of a company called Colores de Argentina, that offer, for an affordable price, transfer packages in comfortable and modern vehicles from the International Airport of Ezeiza “Ministro Pistarini” (Buenos Aires) to Necochea. For more information on this option see the contact details for Colores de Argentina below: In case of any issues do not hesitate in contacting us at our email address: [email protected] Post-conference field trip After the academic activities of PAMINSA III, we propose a post-congress excursion to the city of Monte Hermoso (Buenos Aires Province) on 17th October. There we will be visiting interesting archaeological sites where human footprints dated at 7000 BP can be observed, research at this site has been carried out by archaeologists Lic. Cristina Bayón and Dr. Gustavo Politis. Also, Dr. Mariano Bonomo will offer an informal chat about the work of Florentino Ameghino in Argentina. This interesting field trip will have an additional cost, that we will give more details of in the fourth announcement. We are working to ensure it is accessible for everyone and to get the best possible attendance. For those interested in taking part in this field trip, it’s important that they write an email to the PAMinSA III ([email protected]), with the subject “I am interested in the field trip”. 2 PAMinSA III Third Paleopathology Association Meeting in South America Bridges and Transitions Argentina – Necochea October 2009 Other scientific meetings after PAMinSA III Furthermore, we would also like to inform you about the 9th National Meeting of Biological Anthropology in the city of Puerto Madryn, taking place from the 20th to the 23rd of October 2009. We would recommend taking part in this event, that in addition to getting to know the local contributors in biological anthropologists, it will provide the attendees with an excellent opportunity to know this beautiful city of the Argentinean Patagonia. You can enjoy the nature during this time of the year in which the Right Whales, Sea Lions and other species can be found off the coast. Finally, from the 26 to 28 October of 2009 the Fifth Conference of Forensic Anthropology organised by the Asociación Latinoamericana de Antropología Forense (ALAF).
