The District Head quarter is Navsari city. It has five Talukas with 375 Villages. Total area of the district is 2657.56 sq. km. & Average rainfall is 1782 mm. There is excessive runoff due to steep slopes in the area. The Maximum Rainfall is in the Vansda Taluka. The Main rivers of the district are Ambika , Purna , Kaveri, Midhola flowing from East and drain in the Arabian Sea in west. The Jalalpor & Gandevi Talukas are on Coast of Arebian Sea. Western Part of Vansda 2 Taluka is hilly & having dense forest. Geologically, the Navsari district comprises of Alluvium (Clay & Sand) & Trap. Basaltic out crops are seen in Chikhli, Vansda & East Part of Gandevi taluka while Navsari, Jalalpor & Gandevi Taluka recent alluvium (Sand & Clay) is seen. Ground water in alluvial formation is available under unconfined to confined nditions and availability of water is also satisfactory. The depth of the bores nerally ranges from 20 to 60 Mts. However, in The East & Central part, the bore depth is 90 Mts.
