GLIMPSES OF ACTIVITIES…………………………………………………………………………………... 26 This report is dedicated at the Lotus Feet of our Lord and Master Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Foreword From The District President……………………………………………… The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation was founded in the 1960s by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to enable all of us to undertake service activities to spiritual advancement. He has given us two key aphorisms: Unity is Divinity and Purity is Enlightenment. To attain unity and purity, He has also given four practical divine commandments – Love All; Serve All; and Help Ever; Hurt Never. Baba lent His sacred name to the Sathya Sai Organisation wherein, we can come together to realize the goal of life easily by following these aphorisms and commandments. Ever since the inception of SSSSO – Gujarat, District: Navsari & Dang, it has been a humble attempt to collate the colossal work done by the members of the thirteen Seva Samithis of district, and it in turn has given us, an opportunity to revisit, rejuvenate and revise our approach towards the projects undertaken with an objective to place our wholesome efforts at the Divine Lotus feet of our Beloved Bhagwan. Throughout the year, there have been umpteen numbers of “Seva-Puspa” in plenty, and with Bhagawan's blessings, the SSSSO- Gujarat, District: Navsari & Dang has emerged as a powerful platform to serve the society to the utmost satisfaction of the needy beneficiaries and thereby redeem our own lives. A clear roadmap was drawn in the form of “Annual Planner” by the State body of SSSSO - Gujarat well in advance based on the guiding principles and procedures. Throughout the year, the progress of the functioning of the Organisation has been reviewed from time to time, refining the methodology of working, maintaining strict spiritual discipline, rules and regulations which govern it’s working. There is clear advancement in terms of rendering service to society and the Organisation can now reach out to larger sections of people. All the nationally designed programmes like SSSVIP, SSSRVTC & SSSVJP have been implemented well and now they are on a structured performing level with trained Sevadal shouldering responsibility for each project. Spiritual, educational and service wing have been conducting several programmes keeping the contemporary needs of the society to establish all earnest seekers on the spiritual path. Overall, there has been a spurt in various spiritual, educational and service activities as can be visualized from this Annual Report of activities. Wish to humbly submit here that with the tremendous support being received from all Devotees and Sevadal in the district, we are marching ahead with integrity, dedication and commitment in the path of excellence. On behalf of the entire Sevadal force and the Devotees of Navsari & Dang District, I pray our most beloved Bhagwan to bless, guide and guard us in all our endeavors. We, all resolve once again, to offer ourselves to extend the same spirit in the coming years and become worthy instruments of the divine. Pray swami to shower his grace on one and all. Let us study His nectarine words, understand them through discussions, study circles and workshops, and practice them sincerely. Let us resolve to move forward with unity, achieve purity and experience divinity in this very life. With all humility, Placed at the lotus feet of Swami Ever in Sai Seva (Kaushik G. Kaptan) District President SSSSO- Gujarat, District: Navsari & Dang Page 1 of 34 Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – An Introduction………………….. The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the year 1965, is a service organisation with a spiritual core and base to benefit all mankind irrespective of religion, caste, creed or sect. The Organisation serves as a platform for its members to undertake service and other activities motivated by an urge for one's own transformation with the aim of realising one's inherent divinity. Without any distinction of religion, nationality, race, socio- economic status, either for those who work in the Organisation or for those who are served by it, the Organisation transcends all barriers leading humanity towards the ideal of 'Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man'. The concept of fees or membership subscription is alien to the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, for there cannot be any fee or subscription for one's journey towards his own self. The organisation functions through its primary units called as Samithis and Bhajan Mandalis of which individuals - from different strata of society, different ethnic groups pursuing different religions and faiths -are members bound by the dictum of “Love all, Serve All” and pursue their own sadhana towards self-transformation following the path of selfless service to humanity. At no point is an individual asked to follow a certain religion or rituals. On the contrary each is inspired to follow his own faith so as to ensure that a Hindi becomes a better Hindu, a Muslim becomes a better Muslim, a Christian becomes a better Christian and so on. In fact, this spiritual basis inspires everyone to pursue his own religion better by putting into practice Love and Selflessness. That is why the Organisation features in its emblem the symbols of the major religions of the world. “T he Organisations named after Me are not to be used for publicising My Name, or creating a new cult around My worship….They must render seva (service) to the helpless, the sick, the distressed, the illiterate and the needy. Their seva (selfless service) sh ould not be exhibitionistic; it must seek no reward, not even gratitude or thanks from the recipients. Seva is sadhana (spiritual exercise), not a pastime of the rich and well placed. You must have the firm belief that the aim of this Organisation is to remove the obstacles that keep man away from God, that separate m aanavathwa (Humanity) from Maadhavathwa (Divinity).. This Organisation must elevate the human into the Divine.” Sri Sathya SaSrii Ba SatbaNS Page 2 of 34 WINGS OF THE ORGANISATIONS Spirituality and Service are supplementary and The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation functions complementary to each other. Spirituality is the under three wings viz. (i) Spiritual, (ii) Education, motivational force behind service

  • Experimental Study on Compressive Strength of Concrete by Partially Replacement of Cement with Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash
Jayminkumar A. Patel Int. Journal of Engineering Research and Applications www.ijera.com ISSN : 2248-9622, Vol. 5, Issue 4, ( Part -7) April 2015, pp.117-120 RESEARCH ARTICLE OPEN ACCESS Experimental study on compressive strength of concrete by partially replacement of cement with sugar cane bagasse ash Jayminkumar A. Patel*, Dr. D. B. Raijiwala** *(M. Tech Student, Applied Mechanics Department, S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, INDIA-395007) ** (Associate Professor, Applied Mechanics Department, S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, INDIA-395007) ABSTRACT Use of waste material in concrete is important for environmental aspect. Sugar cane bagasse ash is a waste by product of sugar mill. Present study is to investigate impact of sugar cane bagasse ash in concrete. In this experimental work sugar cane bagasse ash which is taken from Maroli sugar mill, Navsari, Gujarat, INDIA is partially replace with cement at 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight in concrete. The grade of concrete is M25 and w/c ratio is 0.49 taken as a reference. 150*150*150 mm cubes are casted and tested for 7, 14, 28 and 56 days. Compressive strength result shows that up to 10% replacement of sugar cane bagasse ash in concrete gives comparable result with normal concrete without any admixture, but 5% replacement give maximum compressive strength. Also the amount of sugar cane bagasse ash increase, workability of concrete increases. Keywords - Compressive strength, Concrete, Partial replacement, Sugar cane bagasse ash, Workability I. INTRODUCTION and removal of heavy metals from waste water [8– Cement is the most important element of the 10].
