Post-meeting field trips (optional) Post-meeting tours (from 9 December) will be offered respectively to LTSER sites in Fray Jorge National Park (semi-arid region) and Omora Etnobotanical Park (sub-Antarctic region). Fray Jorge National Park, Coquimbo Region, semi-arid zone, Chile Tuesday 9th, Flight Puerto Montt – Santiago (2 hours) Wednesday 10th, Departure bus Santiago-Tongoy (5 hours) Thursday 11th, Departure bus Tongoy– Fray Jorge National Park (1 hour) Friday 12th, Departure bus Tongoy- Santiago and return Cost per person (including lodging, all meals, and transportation): $500 USD Omora Ethnobotanical Park, Navarino Island, Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve Tuesday 9th, Flight Puerto Montt – Punta Arenas (3 hours) Wednesday 10th, Visit Penguin Colony around Punta Arenas Thursday 11th, Departure by Ferry, Punta Arenas – Puerto Williams Friday 12th, Navigation around Darwin’s Cordillera and Glaciers of the Northwestern Arm of the Beagle Channel (one day) Saturday 13th, Visit to Omora Ethnobotanical Park Sunday 14th, Visit to study sites in Navarino Island Monday 15th, Flight Puerto Williams – Punta Arenas Tuesday 16th, Flight Punta Arenas – Santiago and return Cost per person (including lodging, all meals, and transportation): $1500 USD Travel directions and approximate times Santiago - Valdivia - Chiloé Travel to Santiago, Chile by air, with connecting flights via LAN (www.lan.com) or SKY airline (www.skyairline.cl) to Puerto Montt city (2 hours). After arrival in Puerto Montt, guests will be transported by bus to Chiloé Island for attending ILTER Meeting. For those attending the All-Scientists Meeting of the Americas, connecting flights should be arranged from Santiago to Valdivia city (1 hour) via LAN or SKY airline. Participants attending ILTER Meeting will be transported by bus from Valdivia to Chiloé Island after All-Scientists Meeting of the Americas (4 hours).
