Boston BEMC develops at a scale 1000 times larger than in the labortory a molten oxide electrolysis process, enabling production of 12/1/2012 Electrometallurgical liquid metal or alloys from oxides feedstock. The technology is designed to reduce the capital and environmental impact of Corporation metal extraction, in particular due to its flexibility in energy sources. (BEMC) BEMC is negociating a license for the inert anode technology that I patented at MIT in 2010 (Nature 2013), in order to ultimately propose the production of steel without CO2 emissions.

I am the co-founder along 2 alumni from the department, and have been pivotal in securing the funding from a private entity to enable BEMC creation and strategic positioning.

I am currently secretary and strategic & technical advisor for the company, based in Woburn (MA). The company has received support from Arpa-E, DOE and NSF and has 6 permanent staff.
