Easy, easier, self-emulsifying KahlWax 5109, KahlWax 5115

There are definitely benefits to using waxes with a high melting point but the downside can be the problem of the oil phase over- heating. KahlWax’s self-emulsifying waxes are the ideal solution. Thanks to the use of a PEG-free emulsifier, the blends can be easily added to the water phase and heated to approximately 80°C. Both types have unique properties, including an elegant, non- sticky, silky skin feel and a slight mattifying effect that helps to rebalance greasy skin.

Kahlwax 5109 is based on sunflower seed and . Sunflower seed wax is a pale-colored hull wax with a transparent melt; it is a by-product of the production of the edible oil obtained by milling unhulled seeds. The most widely used type of wax is Carnauba wax, a hard wax obtained from the Brazilian palm Copernicia Prunifera which produces large amounts of crude wax to protect its leaves against dehydration.

Kahlwax 5115 combines the benefits of rice bran and myrica wax and has been designed especially for use in O/W emulsions. Myrica wax is a fruit peel wax derived from the Myrica Pubescens tree native to Latin America; rice bran wax is a hull wax produced as a by-product during the preparation of .

Both Kahlwax types are based on GMO-free raw materials and have a very low peroxide value.
