In late 2004, a few motorcycle riders living in Hidden Valley Lake wondered if there were other residents who country trek to Sturgis, Alaska, or the east coast, socializing at club shared their passion for riding. They placed a small notice in Echoes inviting other riders to meet them at meetings, a club party at a member’s home or support for the local Gimme’s in Sugar Ridge. The rest, as they say, is history and the Hidden Valley Riders was born. They began with the following Mission Statement community, there’s something for everyone. If you enjoy riding and hanging with other motorcycle enthusiasts, this is how you can get involved... Mission Statement The purpose of the establishment of the Hidden Valley Riders is to promote and advance the sport of motorcycling. To ensure by example safety in motorcycling and to provide fraternal spirit between the Riders and the community by the development and organization of sponsored rides and charitable events.

If you are interested in joining, you can request an application, or attend a meeting held on 2nd Thursdays at 7pm at Willie's downstairs reception bar. My first interaction with them was when Scott Mitchell contacted me about installing a motorcycle parking pad at Willie’s. (must be 21 or over) That pad was just the beginning. The Riders heard that our Architecture Committee had received an emergency request for a handicap ramp for a 2020 HVR BOARD home. A resident of that home had recently been paralyzed and the ramp President: Bob Will was a necessity. Within a day of hearing of the need, the Riders had Vice President: Gary Stafford arranged for the ramp’s installation and covered the cost. Secretary: Annie Reatherford The Riders are responsible for organizing and hosting our annual Memorial Treasurer: Mark Hollingsworth Day celebration. This remembrance begins with a poignant ceremony at the Veterans Memorial and is followed Sergeant at Arms: John Gehlenborg by a parade through the valley. Their focus on veterans, though, is not confined to a single holiday. When a HVR Membership & Media: Jan Dressman local Vietnam War hero was hosting an event for his Vietnam Veterans motorcycle group here in Hidden Valley, the Riders jumped in to make it memorable for attendees who came from all over the country. Find us on Hidden Valley Lake Website, under Community Est. 2005 On behalf of the POA, I congratulate them on their fifteen years and wish them many more. OCTOBER 2020 1B Celebrating Labor Day in Hidden Valley Lake

Unfortunately, the Civic Club couldn’t hold the Labor Day bash like last year because of the restrictions. So,instead, they scaled things down and brought in a band for the night. Along with the band, they also had the 9/11 Steel Memorial onsite. The Last Call band rocked the night away with several hundred people in attendance. The 9/11 memorial brought crowds in for several hours to see the memorial and remember the day. Everyone that came up had a great time and shared some memories. A special Thank You to Todd Hammerstrom with First Star Logistics and Tom Himmler with Comey and Shepherd for stepping up and sponsoring the night.
