On the cover of the bulletin are the names of the 62nd Graduating Class from St. Margaret’s School. We congratulate the students and thank their families for sending them to Catholic School. It takes a great deal of sacrifice to send your children to a Catholic school. I need not tell you how expensive it is to live in Pearl River, with all the taxes especially the school tax. Certainly, it is the choice of the parents who decide to sacrifice much to send their children to Catholic school. I believe certainly and then some, it is well worth the sacrifice.

All except one will be attending Catholic High School, and combined they received over $350,000 in scholarships. The Class of 2018, now proud alumni of the School, are a wonderful group of kids. All the teachers said the same thing, that they will be missed. I know they were given the right foundation for their life at St. Margaret’s. We look forward to hearing great things about them.

I also congratulate all our young parishioners who had been graduated from Pearl River High School this past Wednesday evening, as well as, all the other schools. School’s out for summer!

We are grateful to God for summertime and may we not forget God amidst the joys of summer and to get to Mass every Sunday. There’s a in every vacation town, just how hard will you look for it?

RENEW AND REBUILD

To keep you informed about our progress with the school boiler. The size of the original boiler was almost 3 times the size needed! I guess the Sisters and students wanted to make sure they were kept warm!! So, the first good news is that we don’t need that large size boiler, which will certainly free up a lot of room in the boiler room. We are looking at purchasing two smaller, efficient boilers, with zone heating. We are now going out to bid for the purchase of the boilers and the plumbing that will be needed. Once we have the new system, we will then begin the demolition of the old boiler. It will, hopefully, take place this summer.

A great deal of gratitude to Kevin Stokes and his talented workers, our drainage problem has been solved in the front plaza. New pipes were fitted properly and put down, pitched correctly, gravel and cement work, and pavers replaced. Please God; there will be no more cave-ins in the front plaza.

A reminder if you haven’t already pledged to the Campaign, there is still time to join your fellow parishioners and help renew and rebuild St. Margaret’s parish for the future. You can call, or drop off the pledge form to the Parish Center, the Priest Residence, and offertory basket. Page 3 The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist
