During this introductory enrollment period, which is applicable to all programs, students will be able to attend the school for 10 calendar days, including weekends and holidays, without any tuition obligation to Lincoln Technical Institute. If a student attends any scheduled class after the 10th calendar day, the introductory period will be concluded. This $2,500 award will go to thirty (30) current students annually throughout Lincoln Educational Services group of schools who exhibit leadership qualities, both in their personal lives and in their school career. Eligibility Requirements: In order to apply for the Award, an eligible student must: • Currently attend a Lincoln Tech (Group of Schools) program for a minimum of 30 days • Complete the applications • Complete the essay • Application must be typed • Minimum GPA of 3.0 • Title IV students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) The student who earns this award must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Only students that meet the qualifications listed above can apply for this award. Award: Thirty (30) awards will be available annually (15 awards in February & 15 awards in August), to eligible students who apply, each in the amount of $2,500. The award will be prorated over the entire length of his/her program and is specifically intended to cover expenses related to tuition costs. The Lincoln Award Committee will review all applications and select a finalist. By offering the American Hero and Single Parent Scholarships to future students who are interested in vocational career training, Lincoln continues to show its commitment to helping students reach their goals as it has done since opening its first school in 1946. Eligibility Requirements: In order to apply for a Lincoln Scholarship, an eligible student must: • Complete the application process to enroll; • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); • Start the program of your choice by December 31, 2021; and • Submit your Lincoln Scholarship application to the financial aid staff. American Hero Scholarship applicants must submit proof of military service. Those students awarded a scholarship must maintain satisfactory academic progress and also must attend the Lincoln Financial Literacy presentation within six weeks of enrollment. Only students that meet the qualifications listed above, and the admissions requirements in order to be considered an enrolled student, and who have demonstrated a financial need, can be awarded this scholarship. Scholarship Award: Each eligible student may apply for one scholarship with an award of $1,000. The scholarship will be prorated over the entire length of his/her program. A Lincoln designee will make the final decision regarding the award. Applications can be submitted any time prior to enrollment periods established by the school of your choice. Winners of the scholarship will be notified in writing by school administration. The notification will include the amount being awarded and start date for the program. Additional Scholarship Information: In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a student must start between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Applications must be submitted on or before December 31, 2021. The scholarship will not be awarded to any student who defers their enrollment past the requisite time period. She will be based at Neumann University (Aston, Pennsylvania), one of 24 colleges that are members of the organization. Haug has 18 years of experience in Catholic ministry, including campus minister at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon; campus minister and wedding coordinator at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame; campus minister for Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina; and campus minister at Ball State University Newman Center and University Parish at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana; She has also served at parishes in Portland, Oregon and South Bend, Indiana. After graduating with a BA in Pastoral Leadership from Marian University, a Franciscan institution in Indianapolis, Indiana, Haug served as a youth minister for the Jesuit Retreat Program in Milford, Ohio. Her post-graduate education includes courses in Theological Studies at St. Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana and current matriculation in a Certificate in Franciscan Studies at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Her roots in Franciscan education extend back to elementary school, where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, the same congregation that now leads the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. “I feel honored to have been chosen,” says Haug, “and am eager to collaborate with the Board of the AFCU to enhance the mission effectiveness of the organization and its member colleges and universities.” The executive director for mission works with the AFCU leadership to set mission- related priorities for the organization and offer services that will support mission programs to member institutions.

    Paterson Public Schools High School Seniors Earn $9.4 Million in Scholarships

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Paul Brubaker June 20, 2019 973-518-2298 PATERSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS EARN $9.4 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarship total only includes awards based on student merit PATERSON – Paterson Public Schools officials reported today that 1,022 students have been accepted to college. Collectively, those students have been awarded $9,430,490 in scholarships, based on data provided by the district’s 12 high schools. This funding total does not include monies that would be made available to students based on their families’ economic eligibility, such as the Pell Grant. “These numbers are strong indicators of how well the district is working with students and families,” said Schools Superintendent Eileen F. Shafer. “I want to congratulate all of the students who have been accepted into college and have been awarded scholarships based on their hard work. I also want to thank all of the parents who have supported their academic achievements at home, as well as all of the teachers, administrators, guidance counselors and principals who have done everything they can to help prepare our students for college.” What follows is a school-by-school representation of the number of students accepted into college, the colleges where the students were accepted, and the total amount of scholarship dollars awarded to students at that school.
