The National University Championships is the premier sports event on the intervarsity calendar, with all 42 Universities across Australia competing against each other in over 30 sports to see who will be crowned the National Champion. By being a member of our National Championship teams you will get to train and develop your skills, make friends, travel to different parts of Australia and create memories to last a lifetime. UTS has consistently performed to the highest standard winning the overall championship in 2016, 2017, and a record-breaking 26 teams in the top 3 placings for 2018. If you are a UTS student and love your sport, then getting involved at the National University Championships is a must! Trials for all sports will be held throughout the year, so be sure to stay in touch with UTS Sport on Facebook, and don’t miss out on what is commonly said to be the best week of your university life!

As well as the NUC Division 1 and 2 competitions, there are also a number of individual Nationals Standalone Championships that are held at different times and locations throughout the year, holding just as much importance. These events include Triathlon, Orienteering, Distance Running, Snow Sports, Rowing, Surfing, Athletics, Swimming, T20 Cricket, Taekwondo, 3x3 Basketball, League of Legends and Marathon Running. A combination of these, and the NUC Division 1 results are tallied up at the end of each year to determine the Australian University Sport overall champions. UTS also competes at the National Indigenous Games, which will be held in Perth in June.
