GOVERNMENT OF BHARAT MAUSAM VIGYAN BHAWAN INDIA METEOTROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT KSHETRIYA MAUSAM VIGYAN KENDRA, REGIONAL METEOROLOGICAL CENTRE, GUWAHATI 26 September 2021 DAILY WEATHER REPORT FOR , , , , , & SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 0830 HRS IST :-

The Cyclonic Storm "Gulab" (pronounced as Gul-Aab) over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of moved nearly westwards with a speed of 17 kmph in last 06 hours and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of 26th September2021, over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal near Lat. 18.4°N and Long. 86.4°E, about 180 km eastsoutheast of Gopalpur () & 240 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam (). It is likely to move nearly westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh - south Odisha coasts between Kalingapatnam & Gopalpur as a Cyclonic Storm with maximum sustained wind 75-85 kmph gusting to 95 kmph, around midnight of 26th September, 2021. The landfall process will commence from late evening of today. The trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Sagar, Pendra Road, Jharsuguda and thence east- southeastwards to the centre of Cyclonic Storm "Gulab" (pronounced as Gul¬Aab) over Northwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal.. A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over Northeast & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24hours. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to develop over Northeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during subsequent 24 hours. It is likely to move northwestwards and reach coast around 29th September.

Available data indicates that light occured at isolated places over Arunachal pradesh & Assam; light to moderate rain occurred at few places over Nagaland & Mizoram; moderate rain occurred at many places over Meghalaya &Tripura ; and dry weather prevailed over Manipur during last 24 hrs.
