Three new cities, and an extra Sydney concert, have been added to the itinerary of what could well be the iconic group’s final Australian tour. ‘The Golden Jubilee Tour’ was halted in May following the sudden illness of lead singer Judith Durham. Since Judith was given the ‘green light’ to return to the stage, concerts have been added in Hobart, Launceston and Toowoomba, and an additional show has been added at Sydney’s State Theatre. The legendary group - Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley - are looking forward to completing the tour and celebrating their 50th anniversary as the only chart-topping band from the Sixties to still be performing and recording in their original lineup. * * * * * * * Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley have reunited for ‘The Golden Jubilee Tour’. Together, they will take their fans down memory lane with stories, memorabilia, messages of congratulations from music industry contemporaries, and video clips on the big screen. As the centrepiece of their two-hour performances, the legendary group who put Australia on the international pop music map, will raise the roof with their chart-topping hits “I’ll Never Find Another You”, “A World Of Our Own”, “The Carnival Is Over”, “Morningtown Ride”, “Georgy Girl”, “I Am Australian”, and many unforgettable crowd favourites. For the first time in concert The Seekers will perform The Beatles’ emotional “In My Life” and the country-folk classic “Silver Threads And Golden Needles”, which they have just recorded for ‘The Golden Jubilee Album – 50 Tracks For 50 Years’. All those fabulous melodies and timeless lyrics will create magic in Australia’s magnificent concert venues. December marks 50 years since The Seekers first sang together in a little coffee shop in Melbourne in 1962. Little did they know that they would go on to conquer the international music world, and become Australia’s national treasures. • An Amber Attractions Production the Golden Days of Australian Bandstand a Musical Look at 60'S Culture
An Amber Attractions Production The Golden days of Australian Bandstand A musical look at 60's Culture Australia’s longest running TV pop show ran for 15 years on channel nine and was beamed into, two million Australian loungeroom’s each week. Hosted by the mild mannered Brian Henderson, it featured regular Australian singers who became known as the "Bandstand Family". The show popularised the talents of Col Joye, Little Patti, Bryan Davies, Judy Stone, The Seekers, Johnny Farnham and The Bee Gees to name a few. As the program grew in popularity the audience was introduced to many overseas stars such as Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark, Tom Jones, Hermans Hermits, Chubby Checker plus many more. While other pop shows presented screaming fans and long-haired beat groups, Bandstand somehow seemed to ignore the extreme trends in music that happened in the mid and late 1960s. Although it showcased a range of pop performers, it shied away from the brash and the scruffy, becoming a more family orientated programme than a show strictly for teenagers. Each episode featured the "Bandstand Ballet" who kept the audience up to date with the latest dance trends. The Audience will RE-LIVE those swinging days of BANDSTAND. Be transported back to their loungeroom's with memorable Film clips BOP along with the DANCERS on screen and sing their heart's out to those unforgettable songs. Produced and Presented by Australia's favourite entertainers, Eddie Daniels and Suzie Lee. BANDSTAND Playlist examples Happy Together - The Turtles Boom bang a Bang - Lulu Do

8 – 9 OCTOBER –A– –B– “The most important journey is the one of the spirit, for your internal peace relies on it.” Olivia Newton-John AC, OBE Acknowledgement of Country Australian Women in Music Awards acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we meet, celebrate, dance and sing. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. MESSAGES Premier of Queensland & Minister Welcome to the 2019 Australian Women in Music Awards. The Queensland Government is proud to support this showcase event for a second year. It is a fabulous way to pay tribute to the many talented women who are creating music or working behind the scenes to support Australia’s Annastacia Palaszczuk MP flourishing music industry. PREMIER OF QUEENSLAND MINISTER FOR TRADE We are delighted the Awards have returned to Queensland, home to some of this country’s finest female musicians. We recognise however, that while they have found success and been embraced by audiences the world over, there are many other gifted women just like them, right across Australia, who are struggling to break through because of gender barriers. Female artists tend to earn less than male performers, receive less airplay on Australian radio and hold little more than one-quarter of senior and strategic roles in key music industry associations. Shining a dedicated spotlight on these issues and recognising the exceptional work of female artists and industry professionals, is a vital step in creating greater visibility and opportunities for all Australian women in music. This is what these Awards are about. We congratulate this year’s winners, cheer on all those who are following MINISTERDi FOR Farmer CHILD SAFETY,MP YOUTH in their rhythmic footsteps, and wish everyone a memorable time AND WOMEN AND MINISTER FOR celebrating outstanding female talent.

  • Paisley-Born Artist Finds His Morningtown on Seil
Paisley-born artist finds his Morningtown on Seil Don puts the finishing touches to the signs that Nightbird & Mike Lennie used in their photo shoot. Translator and artist Don McCracken is taking on the role of tour manager for his return to the Highlands and Islands. A Paisley-born artist, travelling from his home in Finland, will carry out a poignant ritual on the Isle of Seil on the completion of a musical tour he is managing. Don McCracken has lived in Helsinki for the past 25 years but his Scottish roots run deep. In March, Don will return to his country of birth with Fenno-Swedish singer/songwriter Anna- Stina Jungerstam (Nightbird) and fellow Scot Mike Lennie for a nine-date tour of the Highlands and Islands (more on this in our leisure section). On April 5, the trio will arrive on Seil for a performance at Tigh an Truish, but, for the 48-year- old artist, the visit will mean much more than a final tour date. ‘My granny Sarah (Sal) McDougall was born at 19 Balvicar, in a slate quarrier’s cottage, in 1901,’ he told us. ‘She was the youngest of 13 children and went to school in Ellenabeich. She moved down to Govanhill in Glasgow as a teenager, and married my grandad Gilbert Watson, but they kept a connection with the house, and by the time I came along in 1971, she owned it as the last surviving child. ‘Sal and Gilbert spent most of the year there and, as a child, I spent the whole length of my summer holidays there.
