  • 2019 Breeze Show Choir Catalog
Previously Arranged Titles (updated 3/6/19) Specific details about each arrangement (including audio samples) are available at https://breezetunes.com . The cost for each is $300 ($200 if using rhythm section only). The use of any of these arrangements requires a valid custom arrangement license purchased from https://tresonamusic.com . Their licensing fees typically range from $180 to $280 per song and must be paid before you can receive your music. Copyright approval frequently takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, so plan accordingly. If changes to the arrangement are desired, there is an additional fee of $100. Examples of this include re-voicing (such as from SATB to another voice part), rewriting band parts, making cuts, adding an additional verse, etc. **Arrangements may be transposed into a different key free of charge, provided that the change does not make re-voicing necessary** To place an order, please e-mail [email protected] . Tips for success using Previously Arranged Titles: • Most arrangements can be made to work in any voicing, so don’t be afraid to look at titles written for other combinations of voices than what you have. Voice parts can also be reduced or simplified for smaller ensembles. • Adjustments often need to be made if you want to use a previously arranged title in a different show function than it was originally intended. This is especially true of arrangements written as a costume change or a transition number. I am more than happy to consult and make sure a previously arranged title fits with your show design. • Please communicate with me if your band instrumentation changes dramatically during the season, especially when it comes to horn players.

DECLARATION This study represents original work of the author and has not been submitted in any other form to another University. Where use has been made of the work of others, this has been duly acknowledged in the text . .......~~~~ . Lindy van der Meulen December 1995. ABSTRACT This thesis introduces the reader to rock music in Durban from 1963 to 1985, tracing the development of rock in Durban from rock'n'roll to hard core punk. Although the thesis is historically orientated, it also endeavours to show the relationship of rock music in Durban to three central themes, viz: the relationship of rock in Durban to the socio-political realities of apartheid in South Africa; the role of women in local rock, and the identity crisis experienced by white, English-speaking South Africans.

  • Following Is the Text of a Letter That Was Sent by Amy Sky, Marc Jordan and Marie Denise Pelletier to All Members of Parliament and the Senate on March 18, 2009
Following is the text of a letter that was sent by Amy Sky, Marc Jordan and Marie Denise Pelletier to all Members of Parliament and the Senate on March 18, 2009. Support for Canada’s artists became a front-burner issue in 2008. Unfortunately, we’re still waiting for fair compensation for our work. We are hopeful that 2009 is the year that this happens. Despite the political heat that was generated around arts-related issues in last fall’s federal election campaign - fanned in large part by the elimination of federal grants and programs to promote Canadian culture - we’re still waiting for real reforms to the copyright legislation which impacts tremendously on our livelihood. While grants and support programs are extremely important to artists, especially in the early stages of building a career, they are only one part of the bigger picture when it comes to living – and, more to the point, making a living – as an artist in this country. We are singers, songwriters and recording artists. Like so many other Canadians who make and market something, we make our living from the sale and use of what we create. Some people make furniture, or footwear, or even wireless hand-held communication devices. We make music. Just like the clever folks who created Birkenstocks or the Blackberry, Canada’s songwriters and recording artists are proud of the music they create. It has value, in both the artistic and monetary senses of the word. But unlike the creators of other things, artists don’t enjoy the same kind of safeguards to ensure they are fairly compensated when their work is copied and used.

Mongrel Media Presents Score: A Hockey Musical A Film by Michael McGowan (92min., Canada, 2010) Preliminary press notes – as of July 14, 2010 Distribution Publicity Bonne Smith 1028 Queen Street West Star PR Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M6J 1H6 Tel: 416-488-4436 Tel: 416-516-9775 Fax: 416-516-0651 Fax: 416-488-8438 E-mail: [email protected] E-mail: [email protected] www.mongrelmedia.com High res stills may be downloaded from http://www.mongrelmedia.com/press.html 1 OVERVIEW Music icon Olivia Newton-John (whose career has spanned over four decades, from Grease in 1978 to TV’s Glee in 2010) stars in Michael McGowan’s Score: A Hockey Musical, a film that combines musical numbers with Canada’s national sport. The film – which tells the story of a teenage hockey phenom who goes from obscurity to overnight fame – also stars a slew of Canadian talent. Among those are singer/songwriter Marc Jordan (whose composing credits include Rod Stewart’s “Rhythm of My Heart” and Cher’s “Taxi Taxi”), newcomers Noah Reid and Allie MacDonald, along with cameos by music artists Nelly Furtado, Dave Bidini, Hawksley Workman and John McDermott, journalists George Stroumboulopoulos and Evan Solomon, sports anchor Steve Kouleas, hockey dad Walter Gretzky and hockey star Theo Fleury. Unlike other musicals, the story doesn’t stop just for the sake of a song. Instead, the lyrics (written by McGowan) drive the plot. There are 20 original songs, among them one called “Darryl vs. the Kid” by Barenaked Ladies, as well as “Hugs” by Olivia Newton-John, Amy Sky and Marc Jordan, and five songs on which Hawksley Workman contributed.
