The following items will be offered for sale on behalf of the vendors following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 1. The NZCCC accepts no responsibility for any incorrect description of any lot. Viewing opportunity will precede the auction. Any vendor reserve is indicated by the $ amount at the end of each lot description. 2. Bids, starting at $5, will be accepted only from currently financial members or their approved guests and the Auctioneer’s decision will be final. 3. An NZCCC vendor commission rate of 10% (minimum $1) will apply to each lot offered for sale. 4. All lots sold will be delivered to the purchaser or postal bid coordinator as appropriate at the time of sale. 5. A full accounting of sales will be recorded and a list of auction results will be published with the AGM report. 6. Overseas bidders must make private arrangements for the delivery of ammunition. Postal Bids: Please ensure that postal (absentee) bids are received by Saturday February 29. Post to Kevan Walsh 4 Milton Road, Northcote Point, or email [email protected] . A scan of the postal bid form would be good, but simply emailing the editor with a list of your bids will also be fine. For postal bids a payment of $5 is required. Either make a bank deposit ( BNZ account 02-0214-0052076-00) and let the Treasurer Kevan Walsh know, or post your bids with a cheque or cash to Kevan. All postal bids (form attached) are binding, but items will not be sent until the appropriate Police authorization has been completed. Upon completion of the auction, successful postal bidders will be contacted to initiate the “Mail Order Sales of Standard Sporting Firearm(s), Airgun(s) and/or Ammunition (Section – 43A Arms Act) process, using Form S. 43A. http://www.police.govt.nz/sites/default/files/publications/arms-act-mail-order-sales-application-form-nzp-s43a.pdf Bids will be accepted from financial members only ; and must be in whole dollar increments. No compound or rolling bid instructions will be accepted. Every effort will be made to secure lots at a rate exceeding lesser bids by the smallest margin, and all postal bids will remain confidential to the postal bid coordinator. In the event that a postal bid equals a floor bid, the postal bid will have preference. All postal bidders will be notified after the auction. Completion of the appropriate documentation and payment inclusive of any delivery costs must be received before any item will be released to the buyer. NZCCC cannot provide international delivery and overseas buyers will be responsible for their own delivery arrangements. Any lot found to deviate from the list description will have the postal bids waived on that lot. Buyers : Please register your attendance and obtain a buyer number. Registration for the auction (to get a bidding number) will take place on Saturday morning from about 9am. Buyers of ammunition must hold a current firearms license and its presentation will be required. If you wish to purchase prohibited ammunition, you will need to produce your “letter of recognition” that identifies you as a bona fide collector of prohibited ammunition. If you have not received your letter, contact Kevan and we will endeavor to hold the items until proof of receipt of a letter can be shown. Vendors: Please clearly number all lots as per the auction list and deliver to the organizers prior to midday of the auction date. Any lots not bagged or incorrectly numbered risk non-inclusion in the auction. Please note than lunch at about midday on Saturday is free for all registered attendees and their partners. At about 12.45 we will take a group photograph of all attendees. • Type 94 Nambu Pistol - Brought Home by PA Airmen (Pennsylvania Military Museum, T
PMM BLOG ARCHIVE June 15, 2020 Type 94 Nambu Pistol - Brought Home by PA Airmen (Pennsylvania Military Museum, T. Gum, Site Admin.) A semiautomatic pistol developed for the Imperial Japanese Army, by 1945 there were over 70,000 Type 94 Nambu pistols produced. The pistol features textured bakelite grips and is chambered in 8mm, featuring a six round detachable magazine. Originally designed for Japanese aircrews and tankers, it was quite commonly carried despite serious safety issues related to the breach design leading to negligent discharges being quite common. The Nambu pictured here (MM2018.14.1) is serial number 3583 and has distinguishable Japanese characters on its side. Andrew J. Sottile (b.1923 - d.1986) of Sagamore, Armstrong County, PA served with the 11th Airborne in the Pacific theater during WWII from 1943 until 1945. The 11th Airborne Division was the only Airborne division to participate in combat operations in the Pacific Theater. Comprised primarily of former glider troops and some veteran Airborne troops, the division participated in campaigns in the Philippines through late 1944 and early 1945 including the liberation of Manila and freeing more than 2,000 Allied POWS (Prisoners of War) at Los Banos Internment Camp. Photo of War Souvenir Certificate, MM2018.14.2 In May 1945, the division began preparations for Operation Olympic to invade the Japanese mainland. With Japan's surrender in August 1945, these operations were canceled and the 11th moved to Okinawa to escort General MacArthur into Japan. The 11th Airborne remained on occupation duty in Japan until 1949. Sottile brought this pistol home with him from his time with the 11th Airborne Division; worth noting is that this pistol is a registered war souvenir as illustrated by the certificate pictured here that accompanied the pistol home with Sottile, both are now part of the permanent collection of the Pennsylvania Military Museum.

The Argentines produce four models: the Militar is the standard military variant, and conforms most closely to the original HP-35; the M-90 is a modified version of the Militar, with a lengthened slide stop, reshaped manual safety, anatomical grips, and a plastic projection above the magazine well at the front to help with the grip. The "Detective," as it sounds, is a compact version of the M-90 for concealed work. The M-95 has two new safeties, a firing pin safety and an ambidextrous thumb safety. It also has adjustable front and rear sights. Twilight 2000 Story: Some of these pistols were still being used as late as 2025; however, the M-95 was never built.
