Brummitt was named to the All-Tournament Team at the UTPA Tourna- ment, notching 67 digs--an average of more than six per set--to lead the Big 12 over the weekend. In the tournament finale against Lamar, Brummitt notched 30 digs, marking the third time in her decorated Texas Tech career in which she has recorded 30. This marks the fourth time Brummitt has won this award, tying her with Kelly Johnson as the Red Raider with the most Big 12 weekly awards in school history. Brummitt’s award comes on the heels of Lauren Douglass winning last week’s Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor, marking the third time in the Big 12 era Tech has won back-to-back weekly conference awards. The other two instances were Emily Ruetter (Sept. 4, 2012) and Emily Ehrle (Sept. 10, 2012) winning Big 12 Rookie of the Week, and Brummitt winning Defensive Player of the Week honors on Aug. 27 and Sept. 4, 2012.
