("Forever 21 ") understands the importance of protecting the payment card information of its customers, and Forever 21 ' s payment processing system has been using encryption technology since 2015. In mid-October 2017, Forever 21 received a report from a third party suggesting that there may have been unauthorized access to data form payment cards that were used in certain Forever 21 stores. Forever 21 immediately began an investigation and engaged leading payment technology and security firms to assist. On November 14, 2017, Forever 21 issued a press release and posted information on its website notifying customers of its investigation. Findings from the investigation indicate that the encryption technology on some point-of sale (POS) devices at some stores was not always on. The investigation also found signs of unauthorized network access and installation of malware on some POS devices designed to search for payment card data. The malware searched only for track data read from a payment card as it was being routed through the POS device. In most instances, the malware only found track data that did not have cardholder name - only card number, expiration date, and internal verifi cation code - but occasionally the cardholder name was found. -

Christian Ricci Behind the Scenes in New York – Fall 2020 Assignment #1 October 05, 2020 Opened in 1973 on Bowery in Manhattan’s East Village, CBGB was a bar and music venue which features prominently in the history of American punk rock, New Wave and Hardcore music genres. The club’s owner, Hilly Kristal, was always involved with music and musicians, having worked as a manager at the legendary jazz club Village Vanguard booking acts like Miles Davis. When CBGB first opened its doors in the early seventies the venue featured mostly country, blue grass, and blues acts (thus CBGB) before transitioning over to punk rock acts later in the decade. Many well know performers of the punk rock era received their start and earliest exposure at the club, including the Ramones, Patti Smith, Television, Blondie, and Joan Jett. During the New Wave era, performers like Elvis Costello, Talking Heads and even early performances from the Police graced the stage in the now legendary venue. Located at 315 Bowery, which is situated near the northern section of Bowery before it splits into 3rd and 4th Avenues at Cooper square, the original building on the site was constructed in 1878 and was used as a tenement house for 10 families with a shop (liquor store) on the ground floor. In 1934, 315 and 313 were combined into one building and the façade was redesigned and constructed in the Art Deco style, as documented in the 1940 tax photo. At that time, the building was occupied by the Palace Hotel with a ground floor saloon. -

Rhino celebrates the Ramones’ indelible musical legacy with reissues of the pioneering group’s first four albums on 180-gram vinyl. Ramones, Leave Home, Rocket To Russia and Road To Ruin look amazing and come in accurate reproductions of the original packaging. More importantly, the records sound magnificent and were made using lacquers cut from the original analog masters by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. For these releases, Rhino will – for the first time ever on vinyl – reissue the first pressing of Leave Home, which includes “Carbona Not Glue,” a track that was replaced with “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” on all subsequent pressings. Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy Ramone. The original line-up – along with Marky Ramone who joined in 1978 – helped blaze a trail more than 30 years ago with this classic four-album run. Amikor 1976 végén az Újvidéki Rádióba megérkeztek az első punk lemezek (Sex Pistols, Patti Smith Group, The Clash, Dr. Feelgood, The Stranglers, Ramones), mindjárt lecsaptam rájuk - megéreztem, tudtam, hogy ez az, ami nekem kell, ez az én zeném. A Judy Is A Punk szédületes tempója egyből kiakasztott. Igen, „szerelem első pillantásra" volt, vagy operettmagyarul: szerelem első vérig. A Ramones számaival való találkozás alapélmény volt. Reménytelen, boldog szerelem, hiszen csak metafizikai viszonzásról beszélhettünk. Ez a zene soha nem hagyott cserben, soha nem volt hozzám hűtlen, soha nem okozott fájdalmat. A legnehezebb pillanatokon segített, lendített át. Szilárd pont az életemben. A nők jöttek-mentek, s mára az otthonomból és a munkahelyemről is elüldöztek. Azon az 1991-es novemberi napon, amikor még katonai engedély nélkül távozhattam a szerb birodalomból, a Ramones-kazetták ott lapultak a poggyászomban. Egy ilyen elfogult vallomás után illene valamit mondani a zenekarról, s nem utolsósorban a zenéről, amit játszanak _ hisz errefelé nem sok szó esett róluk. A legjelentősebb magyar rock- kritikusok ugyan számon tartják őket, de a tömérdek lapban s a rádiókban szinte semmit sem találni róluk. Egyszóval: siralmas állapot. American Punk: The Relations between Punk Rock, Hardcore, and American Culture Gerfried Ambrosch ABSTRACT Punk culture has its roots on both sides of the Atlantic. Despite continuous cross-fertiliza- tion, the British and the American punk traditions exhibit distinct features. There are notable aesthetic and lyrical differences, for instance. The causes for these dissimilarities stem from the different cultural, social, and economic preconditions that gave rise to punk in these places in the mid-1970s. In the U. K., punk was mainly a movement of frustrated working-class youths who occupied London’s high-rise blocks and whose families’ livelihoods were threatened by a declin- ing economy and rising unemployment. Conversely, in America, punk emerged as a middle-class phenomenon and a reaction to feelings of social and cultural alienation in the context of suburban life. Even city slickers such as the Ramones, New York’s counterpart to London’s Sex Pistols and the United States’ first ‘official’ well-known punk rock group, made reference to the mythology of suburbia (not just as a place but as a state of mind, and an ideal, as well), advancing a subver- sive critique of American culture as a whole. Engaging critically with mainstream U.S. culture, American punk’s constitutive other, punk developed an alternative sense of Americanness. Since the mid-1970s, punk has produced a plethora of bands and sub-scenes all around the world. This phenomenon began almost simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic—in London and in New York, to be precise—and has since spread to the most remote corners of the world. -
