(GREAT STOKE ROUNDABOUT AREA) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202(-)

The South Gloucestershire District Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under sections 84(1) and (2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter referred to as "the Act of 1984") and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following order:-

1. The South Gloucestershire Council (A38; Hatchet Road and B4057 – Bradley Stoke, Filton, Stoke Gifford and Winterbourne) (Restricted Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2002 by virtue of which:

i) the length of road specified in Part I of the Schedule to this order became a restricted road, and

ii) the length of road specified in Part II of the Schedule to this order became a 40 miles per hour speed limit

is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to those lengths of road.

2. The South Gloucestershire Council (B4057 Winterbourne Road) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2004 is hereby revoked.

3. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour on the roads and lengths of road identified as “30 mph” on drawing reference T001-321-019 Rev B annexed to this order.

4. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the roads and lengths of road identified as “40 mph” on drawing reference T001-321-019 Rev B annexed to this order.

5. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with Regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

6. This order shall come into operation on the and may be cited as the South Gloucestershire Council (Great Stoke Roundabout Area) (30 mph Speed Limit) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 202(-).

Restricted Road(s)

“That length of the B4057 WINTERBOURNE ROAD which extends from a point 30 metres west of the westernmost kerbline of Great Stoke roundabout (ie at its junction with Bradley Stoke Way) in a westerly direction to a point 30 metres east of the easternmost kerbline of the said roundabout, a distance measured along the said length of road of 120 metres”

SCHEDULE Part II

40 Speed Limit

“That length of the B4057 WINTERBOURNE ROAD which extends from a point 175 metres east of the easternmost kerbline of the Gipsy Patch Lane roundabout (ie at its junction with Hatchet Road) to a point 30 metres west of the westernmost kerbline of Great Stoke roundabout (ie at its junction with Bradley Stoke Way), a distance measured along the said length of road of approximately 1150 metres”
