EXPLORE BERLIN …At Least Virtually EXPLORE BERLIN …at least virtually Berlin is one of the major capitals of Europe, on a par with London, Paris or Rome. Berlin is recognized as a world city of culture, politics, media and science. There are many world-class museums, an unparalleled music scene (of every possible style) and nightlife, countless theatres and cinemas, and a thriving performing arts and film industry. There are plenty of festivals and international mega events of all sorts. Berlin has 3.5 million inhabitants of more than 180 nationalities. 15% of its population are foreigners, producing a facetted mix of culture, religion, food and political, sociological and ethnic views. Berlin is a very liberal and open city where everyone can find their place. Berlin has an impressive and changeful history, especially of the 20th century, with the heydays in culture and science in the 1920s, the two wars, the Nazi regime and the division of east and west for 45 years, which still can be experienced in many places in the city. Berlin is Europe’s greenest city, and there are more canals in Berlin than in any other city in the world (including Amsterdam and Venice). With more than 2,500 public parks and gardens in Berlin, and almost a fifth of the city being covered with trees, it is easy to forget that you are in a capital city of 3.5 million. Berlin has an extended network of bike paths with a total length of more than 1500 km and more than 700 bicycles per 1000 residents.     Directions to the Photo Booth in Berlin Alexanderplatz Station From Berlin Friedrichstraße station: 1. Take the S-Bahn (S5 towards Strausberg Nord, S7 towards Ahrensfelde, S9 towards Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld, or S3 towards Erkner) on platform 5 and get off the train at Berlin Alexanderplatz station (2nd stop). 2. In Alexanderplatz station, go downstairs and follow the hallway in the direction of the U- Bahn until you reach the circular stairs at the end of the station hall. 3. Keep to the left and walk around the circular stairs. The first fotofix photo booth (A) is on the left behind the circular stairs. 4. Another photo booth (B) can be found when you walk down the circular stairs and immediately turn right. The second photo booth is placed at the wall right next to the circular stairs. 5. Two other photo booths can be found if you proceed in the direction of the U-Bahn. Coming down the circular stairs, walk towards the yellow BVG store, then turn right and continue until you see the photo booth (C) at opposite wall.
