NEWS RELEASE XM Adds CNN to Channel Lineup 11/19/2002 ALSO ADDS HARD ALTERNATIVE ROCK AND LIVE PERFORMANCES CHANNELS Washington D.C., November 19, 2002 -- Washington, DC, November 18, 2002 - XM Satellite Radio, America's leading national satellite radio service, will add CNN on channel 122 beginning Dec. 2, offering XM listeners the channel that revolutionized real-time world news reporting. XM has also added channels for hard alternative rock music and live music performances to its 101-channel lineup. "We're thrilled to have CNN, the international news giant and one of the flagship services on cable television, on our channel lineup," said XM President and CEO Hugh Panero. "We're also pleased to offer an alternative hard rock channel, which many of our listeners have been demanding, and a live performances channel, taking advantage of our world-class performance studio and our collection of rare recordings." XM listeners will now hear the same CNN broadcasts that viewers around the globe have come to rely on for the latest breaking news with on-the-spot coverage and up-to-the-minute updates. XM listeners traveling coast to coast can stay in touch with the world by tuning into shows including American Morning with Paula Zahn, Connie Chung Tonight, Larry King Live, Lou Dobbs Moneyline, and NewsNight with Aaron Brown. In addition to CNN, XM added two new channels Nov. 14: Squizz (ch. 48) - Hard alternative rock in the post-grunge era fusing metal-rap-funk-world with aggressive, heavy guitars. Everything from the pioneers -- Korn and Limp Bizkit -- to today's emerging stars, like Stone Sour and Trust Company. XM Live (ch. 168) - Features rare live performances and intimate interviews with favorite artists round-the-clock as 1 well as exclusive live performances recorded at the state-of-the-art XM LIVE Performance studio. Never before has there been a 24/7 channel dedicated to the live performances of the most important artists of the past sixty years. In order to make room for this exciting new programming, Fox News Channel will move from ch. 122 to ch. 121 and XM will no longer carry Babble On (ch. 167), CNNfn (ch. 105) and USA Today (ch. 121). General Motors recently began selling factory-installed XM radios across 25 different 2003 models including household brand names such as Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. XM-equipped Nissan Pathfinder SUVs have begun arriving at dealerships, to be followed in early 2003 by the XM-equipped Nissan Murano, Infiniti I35 luxury sedans, M45 sedans, Q45 performance luxury sedans, G35 sedans and coupes. Honda has announced XM will be available in the Honda Accord, Honda Pilot and Acura MDX. Isuzu dealers offer XM radios to buyers of their Axiom and Rodeo models. XM will be available as an option on future Audi and Volkswagen models. XM radios are available at major electronics retailers nationwide. Leading manufacturers such as Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, Audiovox and Delphi, maker of the acclamied SKYFi radio line, offer a broad array of XM radios that easily enable any existing car stereo system.
